Land Rover clutch fork/arm (FTC2957) failure, and my solution

Land Rover clutch fork/arm (FTC2957) failure, and my solution

After replacing a lot of these parts, I decided that there has to be a better solution rather than welding a plate on the back
By fitting a nylon insert in a steel bush, the problem of being stranded in the middle of nowhere is all but over.
And you never know when this is going to go!
These are, smooth and reliable, and they have been so successful I now guarantee them for life!

I am currently working on the bush kit for you DIY guys as it is very expensive to ship a full arm to Europe

From Europe. 300 Tdi '98. After seeing the video I bought the one from you and let it installed. Nice product. Thank you! The old one was already cracking. Had I not installed your solution/product I would have been indeed stranded somewhere very unpleasant way.

Hi Mike, I had a fork fail on my 200tdi LT77 110, I had replaced the fork every time I did a clutch or the box/engine was out, but at 260000 miles the fork failed. What I found was the pivot ball (which I had never looked at) had worn into a bizarre kind of point which made its job worse. So at that time I replaced the fork and the pivot ball, and the gear/transfer boxes (The gear box was at 140k and the TF at 260K, the ATF in the LT77 came out siver! even through I drop the oils every 4-5k) . Have you seen the pivots worn like that?

Hello,

So I can buy a reinforced clutch fork from Bearmach for $13. I could pack a bunch of other items in Royal Mail for a few bucks more.

I can’t justify buying your clutch fork. But, I have hole saws, a welder, and can easily install what you made. Can you sell me just the bushing and nylon?

I can machine it too, but if it’s cheap enough shipped to Seattle area, then I’ll buy one or maybe five to bring to Brazil and share with my Defender friends.

Would a series 3 unit fit? Cast iron and never had a issue.

Hi Mike! Again, more great stuff! I am going to jump into my clutch once the weather warms up, any chance I could get a "Britannica Fork Kit"?? 🙂 As a mechanical engineer by trade, this is exactly the type of modification that makes complete sense. Also happy to support the cause and be a tester down here in the lower 48. Any way to get the mod kit being that I already have a fork or you prefer just going through the ebay with the full kit? Happy to return my fork for an upgrade. Thanks Mike!
