This video shows how to easily repair a car key fob by replacing the three button rubber pad. The one shown is found on various Hyundai i10 i20 i30 ix35 Elantra KIA Cee’d Picanto Rio Soul Sportage models but the same technique works with many Fiat, Ford, Honda, Toyota, VW and Audi Key fobs.
In our case we had to use a dab of glue to keep the rubber switches in their place since the key fob was missing a tab but that’s not necessary 90% of the time.
00:00 Step 1: Remove the worn rubber switch pad 00:17: Check if the tab holding it in place is intact.
00:22 Step 2: Apply a tiny bit of glue to hold the new switch cover in place if the tab is broken.
00:41 Step 3: Press the new rubber pad in place, making sure that the rubber pins fit inside the switches.
