Franklin says:

Thank You Scotty, for always adding some common sense to the Automotive Industry!

Penkovski says:

Just did some research. It's the EVO garbage that is causing the problem. Not even sure what that is. Would have been nice if you mentioned that part, Scotty. I never got into it so I guess I'm not affected. My remote works just fine. I don't need nor want my car connected to Kia or anyone else. This never ending desire to have everything connected is nonsense. What about a blue tooth and satellite connected toilet. Is that next? When I purchase a car, I want it to be mine. I don't want people I don't know following me or tracking me. I don't need it attached to anyone's computer. The companies who do this sort of thing deserve everything bad that happens to them. I hope Kia is out millions. Serves them right. Just build cars that drive. Not sure how longer mine with drive as it is subject to the crank being wiped due to a bad design. At least I have a lifetime warranty on the engine, for whatever that is really worth. Thank you, Scotty, for bringing the manufacturers foolishness out in the open. America is turning into a giant everything-connected garbage can.

Gene Cole says:

The hackers need to be hunted down. No matter how smart they think they are their is someone smarter.

andres Velasco says:

Scotty will be the one and only survivor when machines take control of everything, is kinda of the John connor of cars….

ashton anderson says:

@Scotty Kilmer ::possible purchase2002 nissan maxima v6, hasn't been started for a year. jumped the battery and runs good. after an hour of driving idling it started to overheat while idling in park. misfires started while accelerating. no smoke, fans spinning. heated up to just below H whats ur response

reginald elam says:

OK so they cannot start the car remotely. ….but can they use the car keys onboard. Or have they shut down the software to accept any and all commands…God's

Penkovski says:

I'm not having any problems with remote start or entry. How does someone hacking Kia prevent me from starting my car? A little explanation may be in order, or do you think not.

J Hill says:

Just one more reason I don't want my car to depend on the internet. Means the car manufacturer essentially still owns your car.

Dennis Struk says:

BITCOIN-SCHMITCOIN!!! None of that high-tech high-schmeck for me!!!

JORDY FORTY says:

Hey scotty i have a 89 buick lesabre 3.8l v6. throws code 44. whats the most common in this car MAF sensor or oxygen sensor i do not know im trying to figure it out before i throw my last bit of cash into it whaat doo i dooo??????

Phillip Cunningham says:

Another reason I wouldn't buy a new car 08 and older for me.

DrCoffee says:

Every BITCOIN can be traced. Its an open ledger

LC 71 says:

I fail to find any humor in Kia’s situation. Someday you, Scotty, may be the victim of extortion.

Dean Barrett says:

If they can do it to Kia and Hyundai what's to stop them doing it to other car makers. I'll stick with my old car

Joseph DeBiasi says:

My girlfriend just bought a 2018 Toyota corolla. The cost was $15,000. It has 35,000 miles on it. Does she pay too much? Please help.

Nick Oshana says:

Hey lets put all our information on "The Internet" What could go wrong ?????????

BlessedDoongleBerry says:

Push button starts and all these strange electronics are so utterly pointless. I want a car that has nice seats, turns on, and drives. The only electronics I need are maybe reversing cameras, power windows, heating/cooling, etc. Key ignition all the way.

FilthyFrank Black says:

I guess carburetors are coming back..

Big Jay says:

Hey Scotty! I have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS. When I’m turning at a low speed (either in a parking spot or turning slow in general) there’s a clicking noise. I’m sure it’s not the steering wheel because it’s clearly coming from the front wheels. I need help cause that sound is driving me nuts!!!!!

Rick says:

AT LEAST KIA CAN BLAME SOME HACKERS, WHATS TOYOTA’S EXCUSE???? OH COULD IT BE GREED???

Daniel Day says:

Where do you submit our questions for your Q & As?

Mike Hawk says:

Scotty and his celica are unstoppable

Michael Campbell says:

Hi Scotty! I’m in the market for a new truck and wanted your opinion. I’m looking to stay as close to 15,000 as possible and I have two trucks on my radar. One is a 2012 F150 4 Wheel Dr. and the other is a 2008 Toyota tundra four-wheel-drive! both are close in mileage to each other but obviously one is newer and the Ford actually has a nicer trim level. I know you recommend Ford’s but would you recommended one over a Toyota in the same price range? Both have about 175k miles. Thanks so much!

Liam Ortiz says:

You can still have old school remote start if you know a little bit about hardware security, if you know how RSA works, and if you know how Xor works

Stewart Davies says:

To the guy who's car pulls to the left? Check the alignment of the entire chassis! Some times cars are sold after they get wrecked and repaired on the cheap, WO disclosing this fact by unscrupulous dealers maybe? You might have to take the car to a body shop where they have a "Chassis Table" to get it fixed. If you've had it longer than two or maybe three years, you may not have legal recourse, so find out quickly!

Andy Candy says:

DRIVING ON THE BEACH IN GTA SA FELT VERY WRONG!!! NOW, THANKS TO SCOTTY I KNOW WHY!!! THAT'S BECAUSE THE FRAME WOULD RUST AWAY REAL QUICKLY DUE TO MOIST.
