Just a quick video showing how I was able to diagnose and clear a check engine light in a 2005 Toyota Corolla. The only DTC that was showing up was P0301 indicating a misfire. When inspecting that cylinder, we found it full of oil due to the spark plug tube seals not sealing properly. I had recently done some work on this vehicle and noticed that the oil was really low. This problem showed up after the owner added the oil (it was not overfilled).
The misfire was coming and going depending on whether or not he was braking or accelerating which might have had something to do with the oil sloshing forward and back inside the spark plug tube. I think that is ultimately what caused the ignition coil pack to go bad.
It’s been about a week or so and the codes have not come back on. He said it’s running great and is very happy.

Thanks for watching!

Love where Toyota and Honda put their PCV valves, so quick and easy to get to.
My Mazda you have remove the throttle body, and the intake manifold, not the hardest thing but still a lot more hassle then having it right up top.

@vegeta420z says:

If you do check the gap on iridium or laser iridium plugs, don't use the coin style gap tool, use a feeler gauge.

Nice job!
I have the same scanner the Innova 5610-v2 it seems to be a great addition to my tool collection.

@ElectroAtletico says:

Easy fixes: Spark plug, coil, or injector.
More complex issues: Vacuum leaks, fuel delivery problems, or compression loss.
