Rugged Ridge could not give me a torque spec for the bolts. UGH.. come on RR.. anyway, I ended up torqueing the shackle bolts to 55ft lbs. This is not factory recommendation, but I could not find out what that was. I came up with 55 from my own research. If you find something better, let us all know!! Thx š
Oh Man. I would have the FIRE wrench in my hand ASAP. Nice Video my Friend. I have a 92 YJ, Yea you know.
Please chill with the multi angle editing.
Gonna give someone a seizure.
I just cut all my bolts and used all new hardware , dropped my install time drastically
I'm gonna be trying this soon on a 1995 yj. This video definitely helps. Thank you!!!!!
dude though you did struggle you do a very educational video that has a lot of information. I will watch over and over.
Great video, Intellitronix makes a direct fit LED gauge cluster for the CJ, 92-95 YJ & TJ
Thank you for this video. Note to anyone else attempting this. Be patient, have lots of PB Blaster, a cutting wheel, a saws all with carbide tips, a breaker bar, floor jacks, jacks stands, and did I mention, a lot of patience. I had to walk away and come back to this project several times. It was not a two hour install like the box said.
Be careful replacing them leaf springs. I learned that after fractured my finger and out of work for a month.
Removing the front and the back track bars..for a softer ride and less darting
Hey Dale absolutely love your videos. New subscription here. Taking on complete tie rod replacement because of your videos and I appreciate it. I have a question concerning boomerang shackles….. I have a 95 YJ 4.0. I have a 4" RC suspension lift with a 1" TC drop. Im wanting to put on some boomerang shackles on all 4 springs but was curious if this would mess up any steering angles or driveshaft angles?
good video, decided to replace my gas tank skid plate at the same time I lift my YJ!
Excellent video! Iām looking to install rough country 2.5ā lift kit and springs on a scout 800 and I found your tips to be super helpful. Thank you!
Hi, like to ask what length of metal cutting blade did you need on the saw 6" or larger?
that mustache tho….
Hey Dale, I'm going to be changing out front and rear leaf springs, what size bushing are needed for the frame of the YJ that bolts to the shackle, the one you had to drill out? Please help I need to order the right bushing for front and back
Rough country better ?
I cut mine off with my off with my Dewalt saber saw. Much easier. Love your videos. I have a 1992 also and I went with a Skyjacker lift. . Thank you I enjoy them all.
the best tool for the front bolts………..a reciprocating saw, then replace the bolt with a new one. Two minutes.
Try some seafood deep creep makes blaster look like wd40
If you get a pneumatic chisel and some punch bits it will drive it right out.
Guten tight!
I have a 92 yj… reverse the front shackle position really helps the handling on the road, without changing spring articulation…. in other words make the front spring mount solid and the shackle at the back of the front spring….
When those leaf spring bolts won't budge, break out the side grinder with a thin cut-off… had to use that on 5 of 8 l.s. bolts.
