I’m here looking for a video on the 84-96 models steering column. Car starts fine but my windshield radio/ac and blinkers won’t work. Love these videos btw!!!!!

@RogerB86 says:

I can do this without any key programming?

@insanity23mike says:

Why does mine go down one more push from starter? My battery keeps dying from me removing key on ACC. Idk why my 99 Jeep doesn’t have the “lock”at the bottom like most newer cars.

@qrmpower90 says:

hello
if i buy 98 model ignation can i put it on 97 model ?

@sandrade7984 says:

Does the new ignition key need programming?

@outersketcher2237 says:

Whoa! Hey.. this is NOT for the 84 – 96 xj’s! The ignition switch and lock cylinders are a completely different design. Nice video tho..

@williamschlosser77 says:

This is not for a 1989 tho it's on the list.

@vudkennedy says:

This isn’t for 96 and older

@michael_fassbender says:

did you have the battery removed?

@rolandhouston3195 says:

Of course this is for the cylinder but it was truly as easy as she made it look. Things don't usually work like that for me, thank you so much !

@guskohn says:

Short and to the point, thanks for this excellent video!

@ernie0699 says:

Will i still be able to use the original keys when I replace the ignition cylinder/ switch? It’s a 1998 2dr Sport thanks!

@paulmccorkel5399 says:

I said a 1987 jeep Cherokee, u video falsely claimed for 1984 – 2000 model please correct ur Grammer.

@johnmeans4852 says:

What if the key if broke off inside the cylinder?

@cheraleggles8183 says:

the video was helpful, however we had no success at making the ignition switch pop out as the video showed, we had to remove steering panels to completely expose the ignition switch and manipulate the ignition , and pull it out by hand, however, it challenged us to replace the switch and resolve the problem, thanks..

@billrusinko7294 says:

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee I have is inaccessible..the Jeep you show has the cylinder exposed…mine has electronics surrounding it…I'm at a loss

@rachelperez7801 says:

Hi how do you know when to change these my is jammed does not turn at all could it be this?

@stevehendricksonsr.2853 says:

Ignition switch not cylinder

@OMGitsmercer says:

This is NOT for the 84-96 models. This process is for the 97-01. Sadly, the older models require pulling the steering column apart.

@fabricationmanflorida2947 says:

I appreciate this video. My Haynes and Chilton manuals both called for completely dismantling the steering column, with probably 3 or 4 hours of time involved. Thanks for showing me that instead of "remove airbag and everything else" it's "turn key, push button, replace cylinder". Your videos are always helpful!

@stevemcguffey148 says:

Good video, thanks but this is the cylinder and not the switch.
