How To Replace A Blower Motor Resistor In A Jeep Wrangler

This video demonstrates how to determine if your blower motor resistor is bad and how to replace it. If your vents will only work on the higher speeds then your resistor is likely bad.

You saved me big $$$ by not having the JEEP Dealership troubleshoot and repair; they have a minimum two (2) hour diagnostic charge in addition to parts and labor. My eighteen (18) year old (JEEP Girl) daughter did the repair herself, with a “little” help from Dad, after watching your video.
Thank you for the video post.

Hey I have a question. My heater fan use to work but it doesn’t work anymore. I replaced the blower motor resistor and my fan switch and still nothing. The fan use to work but it doesn’t work anymore. Do you think the ignition switch could be a reason why it doesn’t work? Before I had to move the key around in the ignition to get my signal lights and wipers as well as my heater fan to work. However now when I do that the fan doesn’t work at all. However the wipers and signal lights do. I have a new heater motor and fan installed in my 98 wrangler and like I said it use to work but it stopped working. I think it’s either the ignition or a ground wire some where’s. What are your thoughts?

Help me, Ry! 2015 Canyon, A/C runs warm and electric cooling fan under hood doesn't turn off until we disconnect the battery. Afterward, fan runs normal and A/C works. Any ideas??

my X just went thru this with only speed 4 working. The whole motor apparently went shortly after and no speeds worked. Being in WI I couldn't let that go for too long lol. Speaking of, have you had issues with starting your X on cold mornings? Mine will crank strong a few times before firing, apparently a common issues in X's
