hey man i can’t seem to figure out where to install the 12v switched wire.
i know i can connect it to the constant wire right behind the head unite
but i don’t want that, any ideas on where i can install it?
im having the same issue, how would i bypass the factory amp?
Is the red wire for 12v?
If you have a factory amp, there will only be two sets of speaker wires
coming off of the factory plug. Those two sets of wires are the signal
wires to the factory amp. On the non amplified systems, there are four sets
of speaker wires in the plug. If it is amplified, the amp is located in the
drivers side rear quarter panel.
At 2:54 – tapping into the cigarette lighter for ACC power – I don’t see
where you actually connected the extended red wire… only the wires that
were already there. Can you explain how this works?
Can you tell me the easiest way to get the radio bezel off?
Thank you. I wasmissing the second harness to connect to factory one and
didn’t know it. Your video helped.
will it be the same if i have an 03 jeep grand Cherokee
My radio doesn’t turn on on a regular basis, I want to know how can I fix
this problem?
No, it is different for an 03
You do not have to on an 03.
@growlerbro12 – If you have a Multimeter, I would suggest testing power at
the plug. You should be getting 12 volts constant power on two wires in
your harness. Both wires are the same color, I believe they are red with an
orange tracer. If there is no power on either of those wires, you most
likely have a blown fuse. If there is power, you could have done damage to
your CAN Bus network (Lets hope thats not the case).
Oo ok thanks i ask bcuz i got a 05 laredo without boston acoustic but i
order a scosche cr03sr and the antenna adapter but i dont know if is wonna
work but thanks for.your help
ive got the same stereo but in a 2006 dodge dekota will this way still work
because its pretty much the same setup
You are very welcome, glad I could help
Are you trying to put in a Double Din?
you probably have a factory amp that you dont know about…
So I just got my 05, but by wiring into the lighter, won’t that leave the
radio on all the time even when the car is off?
@stylerwilson1 what is a ca bus
Hi do u have any problem with yhe computer or can bus sistem agter u
install it like that
Have you found a video for an 03? I can’t find one anywhere. it’s either
the models before or after…
i have an 04 dodge ram…and..install a single din….stereo aftermarket nd
speakers wont hear…any suggestion??
You have two options. 1st – Buy the Nav Bezel and buy the proper dash kit.
2nd – Cut your dash top and bottom to fit your new deck, build custom
mounts for the deck, fill in the circles, bondo, sand, primer sand, and
paint. A standard Double Din will not fit in the non nav dash without
modification.
im getting a no bus on my odometer after i installed headunit in my 04
dodge ram 3500, any help what do i need to buy ? idk if its a factory amp
or what
will it be the same for a 2005 jeep liberty??
I have an 03 and I was wondering do you have to add an extra wire to power
the amp
@elkngry – No problems with factory computer or CAN Bus. This does not work
for systems that are factory amplified, you must use an adapter, or bypass
amp.
@growlerbro12 FYI on my last post. I have a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
too.
Is the amplifier accessible from the inside of the vehicle? I would like to
splice into the output wires and add an additional subwoofer. Is this
possible? I already bought a “high to low level converter”.
This video helped me out. Thanks
Whats up bro I got a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited With the aftermarket
radio in it When I turn the light on the radio goes blank The radio screen
goes blue what could be the problem
You might have a factory amp, in that case you will need to buy an
interface module or bypass it.
I have a 2005 grand cherokee laredo with the same factory stock radio. I
ordered a nav bezel so i can do a double din but the question is how do you
know if you have a factory amp. and if so where is it located..
Thanks Man, I really appreciate the video! I have installed many car
stereos but this is the 1st one that has no acc…It is 11 degrees outside
right now and i was getting uber pissed. People like you should be awarded
some kind of awesome person award.
Could be a number of things, it sounds like a wiring issue
Dash bezel make the whole thing look mickey mouse
Great vid! I have a 05 Dakota and this is going to be very helpful with my
aftermarket install. Short and to the point! Better than most 45 min vids
out there w/ a bunch of rambling…
@growlerbro12 Did u ever get this resolved? I just ran into the EXACT same
problem. I tryed changing the radio, didnt want to work with new radio.
During wiring a wire touched another and sparked (nothing big and i
separated the wires real quick). As it started to get dark i thought i
would wait till tomorrow so i put the factory radio back in. Now that radio
doesnt turn on. I checked all fuses and they all seem fine. So now i don’t
know what to do.
