Chain tensioner: 2 to 3 hours ($75 / $345 / $550)
In this video I helped my brother replace a timing chain tensioner in his 2003 Jaguar XJ8. This process is the same for many of the V8 Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles between 1998 through 2003, maybe more.
This did not fix the noise, seems like the flywheel is bad.

When ordering new cover seals, you will need 28 of the small round ones.

YOUR brother will be "rolling over " when he get the quote to repair that fly wheel . the next lucky owner will be happy to get new tensioners ….
