Bob Leore says:

I'm indebted to this video (and the comments) for making the alternator replacement an almost pain-free experience. Such a crystal-clear description of the steps, as good as any car video I've ever seen, and that's counting ChrisFix.
A few tips that may help others:
1) No need to drain the oil. A few ounces of oil will leak out when you remove the filter, but that's it.
2) No need to cut the wire harness clip at the bottom. Just insert a small flat-head screwdriver and slowly pry until it pops out.
3) Make sure you hit that lower bracket with copious amounts of PBlaster. It can be really stuck but once the oil soaks in you can start rocking the alternator back and forth and it will steadily loosen up so you can lift it up and off the bracket. That's the key part of the whole job.
4) Other than that little wrinkle, it's as easy as presented here.
5) I replaced the old one (the bearing seized) with a TYC 2-11011 alternator which was an exact fit.
Thanks again!

Seems the same as Elantra 2007-2010. This is so far the best video I've found.

Huge thanks Josh!! Thanks for taking the time to film it and share it with us. The video helped me immensely to change the alternator for my daughter's car. So thanks!! Like others have said, I bypassed the oil drain, went with just removing the filter and worked out good. .
