im having the same problem, but i cant get the drum off. I dont want to
break that backing plate so i cant pry to hard please tell me how you got
yours off. mine is a 1995 honda 2wd fourtrax
This happened to me to it was a bitch to fix. I also had to replace the
front brake master cylender. King pin and bushings and new sprockets and a
good oil change and a new air filter but now its running like a beauty its
a 1986 honda 200sx and its never had any maintmence but my parents bought
it new in 1986
I have a question and since u seem to know ur way around a wheeler kinda
curious if u could help me out my names Thomas and my number is 573 205
9165 call any time please and thanks
@CoreyDeMerchant its very hard to do, but you dont even need to put it back
in i never put them back in anymore because the axle nuts hold it together
you dont need the ring, all the ring does it rip off your brake pads when
you want to get it apart
To get the drum off pry on it a little bit then push it back Ion and there
is a little rubber gasket between the axle shaft and drum get that gasket
out and your drum will slide right off! And a trick to avoid fooling with
that ring around the drum is to fold the brake pads in a little and tuck
them into the drum then hit the drum and it will all pop in there!
So if that ring took you 26 min to put on, dose it have to be off for the
drum to slid on? Because, I tryed to change the brake pads on my bike, but
could not get the drum back on with new pads? Its like the ring is stoping
it from sliding back on? Help plz lol
the housing for my rear brakes got water in them and they stopped working
as soon as i drove out of the water… would just taking the cover off and
letting them dry out fix that? its a 300 fourtrax
The ring that is in the drum does not have to come out of the drum! I slid
it on and off of my brakes with no problem at all.
I have a atc and my back brakes are locked up cant figure out why, and yes
ATC 1985 two of them
0:39 the axle is bent
i took the brake drum off of my 350 honda today and there was oil inside of
it whats the casue of it and whats involved in fixing it? please help
wait…. is that a honda with back brakes that work!!!!! OMG ITS A
MIRACLE!!! lol
Great video, thank you!!

you helped me strip my brake, nice vide…thanks
Great video, thank you
What I had to do was shake the brake drum violently while holding the axle
still and pulling the drum off
put a strip of masking tape on the braking surfaces while fitting them that
prevents grease from contanimating them
What’s the name of the website you can get the parts break down info
I have the opposite problem, the brakes won’t tighten, no matter how hard I
tighten the cables
So if that ring took you 26 min to put on, dose it have to be off for the
drum to slid on? Because, I tryed to change the brake pads on my bike, but

@grizz700lover you just take out the cotter pin and then just use a socket
or impact wrench on the nut
are the $13 rear brake pads on ebay worthless pieces of shit?
@kunkymonkey no suprisingly not, they’ve held up great i have them in two
honda 4wheelers
And how did you get that ring back on lol ???
Do you have new pads cause that would cause them to not tighten and have
you tryed moveing the brake arm further back?
How do you get the actual drum off that’s pressed on the axle
Hay thanks for helping! But I took off the ring and stillllll the drum
would not slide on lol they are the wrong ones
