To everyone that belives this is a improper way to install piston rings,
please by all means call Koenigsegg up and tell them they are building
their mulitimillion dollar Koenigsegg One Supercars wrong. Skip to 12:00

Myvintageiron7512 says:

No he didn’t there is no compression ring going on in that video it’s an
oil ring they show it twice in the video but it’s the oil ring both times
YOU CANT ROLL THESE ON DUDE IT DAMAGES THE RING

Myvintageiron7512 says:

OMG dude did you just tell people It’s ok to roll compression rings on!!
this method is wrong and it takes years of life off of the ring! Every
manufacturer on the planet warns ageist doing this it is mandatory to use
ring pliers! I hope your not building engines for customers! also the
bevel on the top ring is not for ease of installation it is to create
torsional twist it does matter how it goes all you would have to do is take
a few minutes and read the directions in the ring package and make a video
based on correct procedures instead of just making up stuff that’s pure
nonsense not to mention there are tons of people out there doing this wrong
and shortening the life of their engines thanks to you. It would probably
be a good idea to delete this video and make one with the correct
procedure!

Ananda Seneviratne says:

This is definitely not a good way. I do not agree. But the people do it in
this wrong way. I would say bad advise.

skillz1855 says:

Lol,I prob wouldn’t advise people to install rings this way and then tell
them to put the number up and then down..someone about to get massive oil
usage and blow by out the ass

Wolfshark says:

You never twist a ring! You will deform it and it will not spin freely
while the engine is running. Then you will have a stuck ring, and you have
to change it again pretty soon. You actually have to pull it out, and no
you are not going to break it that way, not if you are using ring pliers.

reltub20001 says:

Pressure? What are you talking about? You just warped or bent your second
and first ring. I would be surprised if you get very many miles out of your
rings before oil consumption increases.
Also you nee to learn how to install the expander ring on the oil control
rings. Not enough explanation. And I can’t tell, but it looks as if you
installed them incorrectly.
As for the “lip” as you call it, it goes up. If it is on the inside, which
it was, it is for the compression that leaks past your ring to get behind
it and increase the pressure on the cylinder wall.
Now take this down and go do the research that you need to do before you
try to tell someone the truth.
This video makes you look stupid.

KRAYSLiCK999 says:

People plZ use a ring expander!

Jordan Potts says:

Please anyone that takes this guys advice……….. just take your car to
a crusher…….. itll be there soon enough. Be humane to your car/truck
and just put it down before you do this.

Daniel Mayans says:

Hey quick question. The there a k20a2 i was looking at buying but the guy
says it smokes and could use new rings. Here the link below. Do you think
its worth it? cause if it needs new rings its probably best to just rebuild
it. lmk your thoughts i really enjoy your videos.

Nedim Pinjo says:

your make mistake.. all your job is mistake !

graeme leigh says:

So what is the “lip” at the inner edge for – to make it go easier to go
down over the piston????

B Ann says:

You should change the name of this video, it should be .
‘Installing Piston Rings The Wrong Way’ !
& your top ring is now upside down .
BTW stop gnawing your nails it looks disgusting .

Shane Cox says:

just be careful putting rings on the piston. ring expanding tool is really
good to have but not exactly mandatory.if by any means it feels like a
struggle what so ever getting that ring on the piston buy a tool.

graeme leigh says:

If only you knew what you are talking about it would be a bit safer for
people reading this stuff all over the world to do things in the right
manner.

Ganesh man Lama says:

Anyway thank you sir for lesson.

Silicon Toad says:

Nope. You put the scratch on the piston by doing what you told everyone not
to do 🙂

graeme leigh says:

How much clearance does the piston have above the top ring? And the second
ring?

Ismael Rivera says:

thank you and i saw the diagram of the pistons rings on your web page and
your web page looks nice

Keith Lilly says:

Rumpelstilskin, pay attention this is accurate information. He is telling
you the truth buddy. 4 real. I hav tore down and reassemble many engines ,
his imfo is correct.

graeme leigh says:

Does it matter if there is a scratch on the piston above the top or second
lands?

tom ashton says:

clocking the end gaps is necessary to avoid blow by on the first start up,
the cross hatch on the cylinder walls causes the ring to rotate a little
bit, two strokes are pinned so the ring doesnt catch on the port and break,
by the way the barrel face top ring like in a honda seals better and thier
is less ridge build up in the top egde of the cylinder

Luke Bares says:

thats the easy part but thanks anyway

Ismael Rivera says:

what is the proper position of the piston rings, for honda civic for
EXAMPLES P2P piston rings thank you

Brett Oom says:

go buy ring pliers for $5

Jon Emberson says:

Thanks man..

graeme leigh says:

How much bore clearance is there above the top ring?
