The fuel tank pressure sensor feeds data about pressure inside the fuel tank to the EVAP system to determine if there are evaporative leaks in the system. A bad sensor will most likely trigger a check engine light for the EVAP system. This video shows you how to install a new fuel tank pressure sensor in your 2000-2006 GMC Yukon.

You can also unscrew the bolts from the driver's side holding the bed on and only loosen on the passenger side then hinge the bed. A 2×4 cut to size will work great to hold it up. Imo this is easier than dropping the tank.

So you just pull off the connector, pry off the old sensor, put new one in, reattach the connector and your good?

On my base 1600 Siverado, I can reach over the frame rail & get to the sensor without taking anything else loose. Maybe I just got lucky… this time!
