You know, that thing looks exactly like a blend door actuators. And from what I know about GM blend door actuators, they fail. Those plastic gears always break. Because of that similarity I m not surprised…

@fishface3422 says:

It's a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port.

@Juberdingus says:

Cheap plastic gears on a hot exhaust? Sounds about right. Almost as ridiculous as plastic water pumps.

Plastic junk

@KevinKap-od1iq says:

Why show the bad gear so quickly after you showed the valve in the bore in such detail? Did the teeth shear or the gear cracked, etc?
What is the big secret?

@FluffyMI6 says:

Whats the point in exhaust valves like that? It seems like a needless point-of-failure to add to the system.

@tomb2623 says:

You need a weapon to surpass plastic gear…

@mcbigt1966 says:

Don't put it close to the heat source and it should be fine

@danielfrazier840 says:

@julian75411 says:

Ridiculous how much plastic is in these new cars, and in places where it doesn't belong.

(Is the valve supposed to cut down on exhaust fumes or is it for sound only?)

@vmdenis3350 says:

Is it still wirth buying one ats/cts v?

@walterbutscher8438 says:

@clbcl5 says:

@ginobragoli1448 says:
