There’s no way that defective door panel and that gouge in the paint came from the factory like that, those are just way too obvious. Those are things that probably happened while that thing was sitting on the dealer’s lot for two months. But the dealer should’ve never let that car Leave their possession without fixing those things. That’s on them.

reason2gether says:

I would not buy any electric vehicle. Leasing is the only way to consider driving one in my opinion. These vehicles are going to be like "Hot potatoes" that no one wants when the warranty is over! Especially with the way the Domestic companies (GM, Ford, Dodge/Ram-Stelllantis) treat their customers when warranty issues arise. If I had to buy one, it would be from Toyota which has always stood by their customers.
I hope they do right by you Brian. If not for you, they will not do right by any customer.

Ford Lightning is junk. Apparently, you have money to burn

Michael Coach Tech VP says:

Do like the lightning

Michael Coach Tech VP says:

#hotgarbage go find a Southern bull nose or a aero light 7.3 idi way better

Frank Castillo says:

Hey I’m wondering if you know of a good place to get a new or reman 2.3L vin z engine? Seems a lot of them online don’t have great reviews like Fraser or Powertrain engines. Seems like there aren’t many options available to buy from.

Kelly W says:

UAW thats theproblem

Denver Basshead says:

My spray in liner on my 2020 250 has been great still. Tons of gravel and shovels and abuse

Joseph Klimchock says:

Geez, after your walk around and showing all the problems, I would give it back to them and cancel the lease. Why pay for something that has all these issues? You are way too accepting IMO when say that they can keep it for a month to fix the driver door weather stripping issue. Is Ford going to suspend your lease payments for the time in the shop??? NOPE! I find it amazing and terrible that after making trucks for almost 100 years, that Ford has all these issues with simple things like the creaking hood when it opens and weather strip issue. Good luck with it.

Joseph Klimchock says:

Other than OEM dealer software updates, no one at the dealers really know how to fix these things, you know way more about repairing Ford products that probably all the Ford dealer mechanics combined. How sad that today's commentary is that you have bring a very expensive vehicle, just purchased, right back to the dealer.

Gary H. says:

As a mechanic, the future of your profession is in jeopardy with a purchase/ lease like this.

Mostly brake jobs and some steering components etc.

Patriot55 says:

As teenagers, we always called Ford “Fix Or Repair Daily ”, or “Found On Roadside Dead”. We were just dumb teenagers arguing about Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge. It seems that Ford has definitely put profit above quality. These words were prophetic. 25 years ago, you couldn’t have given me a Dodge truck for free. Now we see Ram and Chevy far ahead in quality. I’ll never own another Ford.

Matthew Stone says:

Looks like Ford brought over RV industry quality. Unbelievable. Send the truck back.

jeffone2nv says:

At least you get to write ✍️ payment off as a business expense

Judge Parker says:

You couldn't give me one of those pseudo-lightnings if I had to drive it. Not ready for electric no matter what Biden says. On the bed liner, Ford does not scuff em. Very important prep before liner is sprayed.

Nate Hawkins says:

I have 21,670 miles on my 22 lightning platinum. Only problem so far was the speaker in the passenger door failed and was replaced without even an appointment. I think Ford somehow really changed the battery for the worse for 2023 MY. I use my lightning for my delivery truck in my printing business.

Ronnie Allen says:

I would never buy this kind of truck or any EV I would stay with my regular F-150 it's paid off a 4 door 2013
With a gas engine it looks like new I do lots of road trips

Skip Rope says:

Engineers and Dealers. Both are a cancer to consumers.

Josh Whitcomb says:

I had a 2021 f150 that spent way too much time in the shop. Lots of electrical/software problems. driveshaft replaced due to the heat shiels rubbing on it which was upsetting due to telling the dealer there was a rattle starting at 4k miles. They didn't replace it until the item was recalled. The intelligent cruise worked part time, the head unit would just shut off and to top it off the truck locked me out one time and then wouldn't start without putting the key in the slot under the cup holder. To top it off the 10 speed downshited so hard while slowing down you'd swear you got rear ended. Ended up getting rid of it when the bumper to bumper was up.

I WISH TO BE TEXAN says:

NEED HELP!
so i was sitting in my 04 eddie baugher, expedition talking to my wife. AC suddenly got hot, and a few seconds later, heard a beep. Dashboard said "check gauge" and i saw the temp gauge was all the way up. Immediately shut it off. Looked under hood. No coolant. Small wet spot underneath coolant/heater control valve. (i looked it up after removing it ) there was initially a hissing noise and with soapy water i found it leaking. It was broken off into one of the hoses. It has 2 larger hoses, and one smaller hose. Can anyone give me more info and recommendations please! Already ordered a new part from Ford. Anything else i should check or look into?

Michael White says:

But apparently UAW deserves more gibs…
