I accidentally tossed the small shiny foam sound proof cover that went between the mirror and frame. Any ideas where I could get another?

boscorosco says:

Did the 1A mirror replacement install. Very easy. I noticed that the mirror is not flush as I would like on the exterior at the top Is there a clip or something I am missing? Previously dad tow mirrors which had a clip at the top. The smaller mirrors dont seem to have a clip at the top.

Bitaemo says:

Can you show how to replace the bulb on the mirror? For this exact style of mirror on a 2017… I cannot find any help online whatsoever for just the bulb replacement.

Larry Cater - TX says:

I the 2018 F150 there is an ambient air temperature sensor that you need to take out of the old mirror and put in the new mirror. Otherwise your AC will not work properly. And you”ll have buy a new sensor ($40.00). And it is a lot more difficult to install later. I think this should be in the video. But thanks for the help.

Jonathan palabay says:

After removing all fasteners, it still seems difficult to pull the mirror from the vehicle. Apparently it’s hooked in place by a plastic hook looking piece on the mirror. Is hitting downward on the the mirror the technique to getting past the “hook?”

Larry Cater - TX says:

Great information. Thank you

tonelovr says:

I purchased this mirror which came with a black outer cap so i ordered the chrome cap to replace it but there are no videos that i have found that show how to remove the caps. I found videos that show removing a Ford OEM model but everyone of those break the covers to get them off. I was hoping to not have to break it to remove since we might paint those and put them back on later. Can you share how to remove the mirror glass to get access to the release tabs of the outer cap?

Paul Valenzuela says:

Very helpful, thanks!

Paea Tukuafu says:

This still going on at 2020?

L Leoni says:

Thank you so much for this video! Recently went back to a pickup after YEARS of driving little cars.. and broke my passenger side mirror. After watching the video, I ordered the part and it took me about 10 minutes to swap them out! Ford has made it simple to do this and your instructions were invaluable – so I didn't break anything! Really Appreciate it! Sure saved a lot of money doing it myself versus having the dealer replace it!

Lloyd Wright says:

Thank you this really helped me out!!

alan greco says:

Followed this tutorial and had mirror changed in 5 minutes without any problems

Suzanne Siverling says:

I did this but now the side impact detection and automatic setting adjustment do not work.
