The emissions hose should be connected to the tank. We would NOT recommend
you bypass it. You may have to lower the tank slightly to gain enough
access to it. If you need more detailed help, please feel free to call our
free tech line: 800-424-7839.

Yep got to test it, If you can do a video on this would be helpful. Thanks
bud

Airtex Pumps says:

We do have diagnostic videos available that might help. They are on the
subjects of fuel pressure, fuel line fittings, voltage drop, grounds &
sending units. You can find these located on our YouTube channel or at our
FuelPumpU website. Hope these help.

Tanner Dixon says:

i just put the secondary tank back on my 1985 f150 but i cant get the
emmisions hose to go back into the pipe it is supposed to be in. is there
any way i can bypass that and do something else thats easier to vent that
will work just as well or is there any way to connect them without dropping
the tank again?

Honey Hole Hive says:

got any ideals on how to get my front and rear tanks to switch?

Airtex Pumps says:

If the switch is not working to change the fuel tanks, then you will need
to diagnose the system. You will need to check for power at the switch & if
the power is switching when you flip the switch. You will need to refer to
a service manual for the specifics in testing. If you need further help
once you start testing, please call our free Tech Line: 800-424-7839.

Computers, Sinceres, Electronics, on these cars and trucks just drive me
crazy

Airtex Pumps says:

You can buy a fuel pressure gauge at your local parts store (some have a
loaner program). For gauge connection, the fitting should be located on the
fuel rail on the driver’s side of the engine and should look like a tire
valve stem. We recommend using a jack to hold the tank while removing the
straps so you can lower it slowly. It may be possible to remove it the way
you are describing if all fuel is removed. Without removing the fuel it is
safer/easier to use a jack. Hope this helps. Thanks!

Michael Alley says:

question here. my gas gauge is not working. its staying on E and when i
turn switch on it goes to F. never moves. how do i fix that? what would the
problem be? please help its a 1985 Ford F150. engine 300. V6

Airtex Pumps says:

The problem can be that either the sending unit in the fuel tank is not
making a good connection & is faulty or you could have a faulty ground or
signal wire. You can view our fuel sender diagnosis video or call our free
Tech Line (800-424-7839) for further diagnostic help on this issue. Thanks
for watching.
