Would this work on GTs also?

Andy Amodio says:

Bounce it off the rev limiter for a few seconds. Noise be gone.

bigmatt8817 says:

I appreciate the vid bro. I bounced of the rev limiter and missed third in
my ls1 trans am the other day and I’ve been hearing this extremely high
pitched knocking noise at about 2000 rpm. I’ve been scared as hell the last
couple days thinking I was gonna have to replace the motor. I watched your
bid and went straight to Walmart and bought a bottle, the noise only lasted
a couple miles before it was gone completely!! She’s back to roaring like a
lion again. I’m a very happy guy right now :). Thanks buddy.

Joey Jim says:

Yeah my car had the oil light come on then immediately the engine started
making the tapping noise. It would speed up as I accelerate I only drove a
block and back when I saw it. I checked the dip stick it was below
recommended. Anyone help should I do this. It’s not like a knocking noise.
I drive a 2002 grand am 3.4 v6. Help?

harryt622 says:

Instead of the oil additive go to a thicker oil like 5W30, it will get rid
of the noise. Last time I had my oil changed on my F150 they put in the
recommended oil instead of the heavier stuff like I told them and I have a
slight tick now. The Rislone just makes the oil thicker.

mike john says:

these are cleaners of removing oil and gunk deposits ,they really don’t fix
problems they only clean out the parts so they operate more efficiently. So
they are good in some ways,i guess if you still get the same problem in
your car then its time to get a mechanic to have a look at it.

ben marsonek says:

You can add a quart of diesel fuel to the oil and let it run for about 30
minutes and drain the oil and remove the oil filter. Replace the oil filter
with a new flilter and screw the oil plug back in and then add fresh oil.
This should quiet the lifters as well. without going to auto zone and
buying these chemicals.

909mrverdugo says:

I will try this on my 2000 venture, trying to sell it,but with that noise
it will be hard to sell.my mechanics said it was the lifters, hopefully this
will work,will try tomorrow.

Damion Marcum says:

I have a 97 Mustang v6 and I have the same problem. The rocker Arms is what
it is I believe, I took it to OReily and they said that its a possibility.
Mine is bad when I give it more gas it speeds up the knocking. and when im
at a red light you can hear it. When I put it in reverse it is really loud!
should I just try this first. or just replace them

Railfan Jason says:

Thanks for the tip. I have a ’97 Firebird with a V6 too. Had an oil
change done on it last week and it started ticking. It’s bloody annoying.
Going to Autozone now…

james mendoza says:

I have a 94 Silverado 5.7L as a project truck it’s cammed running stock
heads I started noticing a ticking coming from the lifters I used this and
it work for about two oil changes later it cam back so I just checked the
lifters today ended up two of them needed to be adjusted probably do to
driving it hard but this is a good way to go for cars that have a lot of
stuff in the way of the vavle covers

ibramovetech jo says:

use ATF oil 1LTR drive the car 200 km then replace oil and filter

Ruben Gonzalez says:

Yea my brother revved my motor up to 7rpm on a stock single cam honda motor
, been hearing that light ticking noise when I go low speed like a person
said at 2000 Rpms , might try this

Peter Agugliaro says:

My car (2005 Volkswagen GTI 1.8t) developed a really bad ticking noise from
a stuck lifter/tappet. The first time this happened I went to the
dealership and ended up spending about $900 to have it replaced. I was
also told “I had to replace the camshaft on the exhaust side” and being
that the timing belt had to come off, I had them replace that too.
Anyway…. About 6 months later the SAME EXACT noise began happening
again. Rather than take it to the dealership and have them tear into the
top part of my engine again, I researched a few different things I could
try first. Rislone seemed easy enough. I tried it and I just want to
point out that it didn’t work immediately. It definitely takes some time
to do it’s job. For me it was about 4 days. But one morning I went out to
start my car and it sounded perfectly normal again. Since then I’ve
included a bottle of Rislone in each oil change.. Stuff works like
magic!!!!

Joe Flo says:

If the engine oil is worth a crap you shouldn’t need any additives, I only
use Lubrication Engineers Lubricants. I’m currently driving a 25 year old
car, I change the oil every 15,000 miles and it still runs great. I have an
old truck that I only drive about 2000 miles per year, according to oil
anllysis the oll was good for 5 years. After using the transmission fluid
for 200,000 miles there were nearly no metal shaving in the pan.

lpqwify says:

Rislone is good stuff.

Gary Walton says:

great video. I have a 2006 Dodge charger 3.5L. No luck using the suggested
options. Off to the dealer and 800 later. But thanks for the video.

polytech44xyz says:

Problem: Lifter ball check valve leaking down due to oil sludge/ varnish
deposits clogging it open/ lifter collapse/ leak down as a result. What the
motor flush did was ‘free up’ the sludge causing the problem; so lifter
ball check valve would then close all the way allowing hydraulic lifter to
pump up to spec. -A word of warning: when you run this motor flush through
your engine, not only does it free up sludge but also fine particulate in
the sludge, which then runs through all your bearings…Of course the oil
filter should pick it up (unless it’s clogged, or made by Fram). Clogged
oil filter you say? Yes, it happens; for the same reason sludge like this
happens: poor maintenance, infrequent oil changes and/ or running a crap
oil filter.

Jeffery Short says:

oh. this is a 1998 ford f 150

GET MONEY says:

02 ford crown victoria will this stop my motor from knocking and tapping

scottgixxer67 says:

I put a bottle of RISLONE ,RING SEAL SMOKE REPAIR in my v6 Ranger today and
can already tell a difference …the lifter tick is gone…maybe i’ll get
better compression now…

hudali311 says:

it works in most cases unless the engine is badly dirty inside. my LS1
holden gave me a pretty hard time and didn’t work until I dug the engine
heads and discovered that the lifter rods are totally blocked with debri.
also, a lifter roller turned into a crescent after driving it for over 5K
with heavy knocks!. the cam shaft is definitely worn out!

Gabe C says:

Guys I had a lifter knock on my ’90 Ford Bronco with a 351 W and this
worked great! I was very happy and actually couldn’t believe it. This was
my last shot before having to tear it apart. Used the exact same products
and like I said, it worked really well and I could tell it made a
difference in performance too. Definitely worth the few bucks I spent

mostcallmerob says:

Do you think this will work on my Ferrari 308 GTSI?

homero limon says:

bro thanks this worked with my 3.0 v6 stratus RT . aprecciate the video

Jeffery Short says:

lifters only make noise when i drive. dose not do it in reverse or idle.
only when im driving. not even when i rev it up. why?

Figueredo Eddie says:

What if.it.doesn’t.work?

Jason Ander says:

sweet year! I love this look

hondaatc1987 says:

This worked for my 1998 dodge ram 5.2! I had a clogged lifter!, i also
used SeaFoam engine treatment.

JonathanS995 . says:

Hopefully thisll work for my ’84 ford telstar

Bruce Banner says:

adjust the rockers

holly macmolly says:

unless you have roller rockers like me , then your engine always sounds
like a sewing machine.

james l says:

1200 What ever

Patrick Morales says:

i added sea foam to my fresh oil drove to work for a week no ticking nor
tapping . two or three months later tapping came back which means the
hydralic tappets have collapsed which means replacement, they are not
fully expanded no other way of fixing them

Isaiah Cardenas says:

Thank you repair man man man man

sagp enthusiast says:

Seafoam and Lucas do the same thing. Quited noisey lifters twice with those

jphritz011 says:

Thanks for the tip.

mozzmann says:

You want to quieten a noisy engine , NEVER use ANY flush ABSOLUTELY NEVER,
Your Hydraulic Lifter’s make a slight noise in normal operation BUT I
suspect the reason they are noisy is that your engine has a lazy Oil pump
or excess wear in the Mainan con-rod bearings is resulting in low oil
pressure and supply to the lifter’s hence they rattle. if they are quiet
when you start a cold engine I will guarantee that this is the likely issue.

Before you do anything I’d be checking the actual Oil Pressure in the
engine, Low Oil pressure can manifest itself in the form of noisy lifter’s
and is a powerful diagnosis tool and could mean you are getting close to
point at which you may need an engine rebuild or recondition. You DO NOT
require to go and buy a new engine unless it’s factory it will be a
refurbished engine anyway so why not do it your self .
And as flushing and using an oil additive is little more than a band-aid,
sorry but that if the truth.
