Broken Ford Bronco Steering Rack?! Here's HOW TO FIX IT!

At this point, everyone knows that the new Ford Bronco has a real issue of bending and breaking tie rods. From there, a broken steering rack might not be far behind (in addition to the other collateral damage that could occur). And although the Ford Bronco Raptor (and some Bronco trims) have beefier steering racks…they’re still far from indestructible. Lucky for us, we found a replacement that IS basically indestructible – the 74Weld billet aluminum steering rack!

Victor Hugo says:

I never realized the steering rack had so many bearings. I see ball bearings, needle bearings, the ball screw being one of the biggest components.

Bullitt Dog says:

You’d be way ahead of the game if ya used the $5K you’re going to have in the steering alone and put it towards a D60. It’s like watching a Fox body guy try to go fast and refuse to just go LS!

Tyler Buhite says:

Solid gold content as always! Kevin its still your fault but we will blame brit as usual ! BAHA

Everyone needs a chris in there life, preferably one that knows when hes in.

Definitely future goals to have a full time upgrade mechanic working for me

trjnsd says:

What an amazing piece of engineering! Great work, though I think I'd rather have a nice, simple manual steering, with an hydraulic assist. Is this Bronco drivable if the steering motor fails? reinstalling that rack into the Bronco reminded me of watching the mechanic struggle to get the rack back into my WK – took forever, and I learned some new words! What did I miss? What happened to Chris's nuckle? Lots of swelling under that glove.
