Advanced Level Diagnostics says:

Would the dealership listen to a customer if they tell them they want the new parts?

Zachary Brown says:

Had the phasers on my 18 3.5 F150 replaced in February of 21 under warranty. They used the old PN parts.. We'll see how long they last before they rattle again.

Josh Hodges says:

I have 5.0L dose it use phasers like that?

At this point, why buy or continue to own any truck with an Eco-Boost engine?! GM has issues but not like this!

I just had my 2018 with 28k mileage in the Ford dealer for this.Flying Wrenches had a video out on this too. I verbally insisted and wrote a note and attached it to the service write up. Yes they put the new style phasers in it. Thanks for sharing this info to others.

Great video! Great advice!

Steve Pepin says:

Almost seems like the 5.4L 2V was the last good engine they made. Seems all the 3V and Ecoboost engines are junk.

Dave A says:

You said the 21 and newer 2nd gen engines don't have this problem. You may want to qualify that statement; they don't have this problem, yet.

ROBERT R Penny says:

The way Ford service operates is enough to make you loco.

D G says:

you probably could fill weld the phaser defect with tungsten carbide bead

terry keenan says:

Brian I just had my 18 phasers done for the second time on warranty. The first time was last December 2021 and just last week. They used the H series phasers in the first job at 65000 KM and M series at 82000 KM. My truck made phaser noise on deceleration while the engine was still cold. Once warmed up no deceleration ratcheting noise.

FixitAlex says:

Are you replacing all 4 or just the bad ones?

Savannah and Sabrina says:

I can't remmember how many car i done for that cam phaser recall for 3.5l engine

Esteban Fernandez says:

how can i clean tufbo on eco boost ?

Random fishing guy says:

That’s terrible that ford is allowing old parts that are known to fail in their warranty work. At least sell the stockpile to Dorman you know the quality your getting from dorman

Jason Moore says:

Would you still recommend replacing the oil pump to a Melling High-Volume on the 2nd Gens?

Eric Lockridge says:

Nice detailed info on these phasers and the importance of asking for the new updated ones right off the bat. I'm not deeply involved in mechanics of my vehicles like I used to be, but man, your videos are the very best on YouTube. Thanks for sharing and keep up your stuff!
