is this for a 97 ford explorer? as I watched this other video, and the
calaber looked completely different.
and i’m paying 400 dollars for just this? psssssshhhh
As a woman who has been burnt by mechanics too many times, I prefer to do
my own automotive work where I can. I often reference you tube videos and
one thing common is poor visual presentation. The visual in this vid is
excellent. Just wanted to say thanks.
Great vid-nice work…but…nomenclature for perspective planes and
angles–a ‘lip’ is a flange.—-yada yada…
yeah, apparently everything. So the price is justified but holy hell. e.o
all is well though i now have to get used to the new breaks. ty for your
reply :3
yeah burnt. e.o is 1000 dollars about right to have to pay to have all
breaks replaced on a 99 ford explorer?
thank you grt video!
ive tried to using a breaker bar plenty of wd-40 and pb blaster an air
hammer and a impact wrench to get the bolts holding the bracket off to no
avail any suggestions?
Nevermind i figuerd it out… But my ABS lights come up now and when i
first start the car the brake petal feels like its ajusting or somthing is
that normal?
@Twiford You’re welcome 🙂
Dude, Thanks for a great video. Never done anywork myself on cars and you
certainly gave a good presentation on how to do it. As for my new rotors &
pads, DONE. Thanks again.
@1aauto. Is it the same brake and rotor replacement for a 94 4×4 ford
explorer? Thanks
I need help! I just bought 2 front rotors and new brakes and when i drive
it makes a squicky noise! Like the rotor hits that metal sheet on the other
side of the pads.. and when driving it sounds nasty
It depends on what parts are being replaced. If it’s just pads and rotors,
then yes that is a very high price, other components of the braking system
are more expensive however. Do you know what parts they want to replace?
And also my wheels is not leveled it rocks back and forth and everything is
bulted on hard…
do you need a torque wrench to take off the of caliper braket?
Hey! we Aren’t 1aauto!!!!!!! LOL but I’ll help ya out anyhow. 🙂 On the 94
explorer, the rotors are actually quite a bit different. I checked and I
don’t have any videos at this time which are similar, basically you have to
disassemble the front hub assembly (easier than it sounds) spin off the
locking nut on for the bearings, pull the bearings out, and then the rotor
will come off. It’s a greasy messy job. Just remember how everything comes
apart and keep lots of rags handy.
Great Vid Budz….sure gonna make the job easy now ..thx to you..
You did it lol
Nice lighting…clear audio..keep them coming…good job!
wow, they are seized in there,, unfortunately it sounds like you have tried
everything up to using a torch to heat the bracket around the bolts and
then trying to break them loose.
Thanks for posting this video. Just used it to complete my front brake job
on my 1997 Ford Explorer. This video was perfect guide for the steps to get
me through it !!! Thanks again…
It is quite common for the dust-shield behind the rotor to get bent a
little bit when doing the brake job on these trucks, if that happens it can
rub against the rotor creating a horrible screeching sound. I would start
by double checking that the brake dust shield behind the rotor isn’t
rubbing.
