Is Dodge secretly working on a revolutionary twin-turbo V8? Rumors are swirling about a new engine design that’s smaller, more efficient, and packed with cutting-edge tech like dual overhead cams and integrated turbochargers. Could this be the long-awaited successor to the legendary HEMI? And more importantly, is Stellantis finally waking up to the demand for a high-performance V8 in Dodge’s lineup? Buckle up, because in this video, we’re breaking down leaked patents, insider info, and a timeline of key events to uncover what could be Dodge’s next big move in American muscle.
From the rise of the Hellcat in 2015 to the stalled momentum under Stellantis’s EV push, Dodge has been caught between legendary combustion engines and the controversial shift to electric vehicles. But with talk of a dual overhead cam V8, potential crate engine roots, and a renewed focus after political changes, could this mystery V8—let’s call it the “Magnum”—be Dodge’s way of reclaiming its throne? I’ll connect the dots and explore whether this engine could be the ultimate send-off for internal combustion or the beginning of a new muscle car era. The new Hurricane engine isn't a twin-turbo V-8. It's a twin turbo inline-6.
Dude, it's "X"- not Twitter. How are we supposed to take you seriously when you don't even know what platform your on?
Was just saying that a twin turbo v8 is only thing that can save them.
I need facts, not rumors. you say one thing then change what you said. get the facts before you say anything.

No one wants an inline 6 turbo in a historically powered V8 muscle car. And the Mustangs not too long ago did have a 4 cylinder turbo, V6, V8 and supercharged V8 – so thats not the best example. I don’t know how you can say “the line is blurred between the 5.7/6.4/6.2SC” unless you’re not familiar with them at all.
I6 Turbo and no Hemi = very dangerously low sales.
Also on the Hellephant – that’s such a semantics game Dodge made. The Hellephants were supposed to be 7.0L but they handed over the name across a modified Redeye 6.2L. So you’re wrong that the only difference is a cam. (There are 2x 7.0L versions – one made for gas and one for ethanol. 2x 6.2Ls one made for gas and one made for ethanol.)No 7.0L Hellephant will ever be in a production car.
Also- making a Twin Turbo DOHC V8 would just be a terrible as far as working on it and reliability goes.
If you think the Audi/BMW/Porsche/Mercedes Twin Turbo V8s are a nightmare to work on, the Dodge variants will be no different.
Put a twin screw supercharger on it and it could be tolerable though, just still very large dimensionally compared to a Hemi.

it wil use oil like mad like most turbos do these days….the power will be nice…
On paper the hurricane engine should’ve been great. But Leave it to Chrysler to f up a simple inline 6 design. Cast aluminum block, plastic parts, small displacement, and twin turbochargers is just a recipe for disaster. Imo CDJR would’ve been good with a 4.0 liter inline six with cast iron block and a single bigger turbo
They need to sell Chrysler and all of the brands that fall under the banner to the one Family member of Chrysler that was trying to buy it so he could start to restore the brand to what it once was. He had all kinds of investors and Stalantis refused to sell.
