Thermostat Replacement 3.6L Chrysler/Dodge

Thermostat Replacement 3.6L Chrysler/Dodge

Using a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan I show you how to replace the thermostat on the 3.6 Liter. This van had a P0128 code due to the thermostat being stuck open so the temp couldnt get hot enough. Hose clamp pliers make this job easy, get them here:

Keith Edginton says:

Excellent look at a fairly straightforward job. Do the world a favor and give us a link to the hose clamp pliers.

Raul Lozoya says:

This guy does. Not explain anything did not mention the gasket or bleader screw.

Ronald says:

I have the same car 2012 Dodge carvan error code of P0128 but the car isn't overheating at all. could that be just a sensor or do I have change out the thermostat anyway?

Milton Bradley Voice of the Mummy says:

My warranty just ran out on my used 14 TC. This is my first money light! P0128. The 14 TC Touring has the temp on the info center. You can see it not getting warmer than 175 driving around in VA 50 degree temps. Super job on the video and temps info!

Steven Carrasco says:

It was helpful but doesn't the two different coolant types gel up?

Old Man Jenks says:

I noticed that the old coolant was the red type and you replaced it with green. Is that ok to do?

That Avenger says:

Mixing coolant isn't a good idea. Causes sludge when the two coolants come together. Good video but just a valid point

Ian Mackenzie says:

Excellent camera work. Did you use a dealer oem t-stat or after market? I tend to prefer dealer for parts like this but what are your thoughts?

Alberto infante says:

Muy buen video ,y la mejor parte es la que enseñas a drenarlo pk es muy importante no dejarle aire en el sistema

Sean Wright says:

Why in the world would you put the wrong coolant (green – conventional), in an engine the calls for a different, better coolant for that engine. Everyone knows there is no one-size fits all coolant. They wouldn't make different formulations if one would work in everything.

M A says:

How do we know the problem is not the thermostat instead of the sensor? or vice versa

Alan Vermillion ll says:

Now I was told buy a mechanic. Do not mix red Dexcool with the green Universal because it will gum up the system.

D Meadows says:

you do know it is WAY easier if you take 5 minutes to remove the airbox right?

Bill Griffin says:

lol, I'm having a hell of a time with that bottom bolt. I've got an Avenger though, maybe you have a little more room in the Caravan.

armoricain says:

I liked it when your voice went on munchkin-on-helium mode! LOL! Good video!

All business. No frim fram. Jumped in and got it done. Thanks for not wasting my time trying to be a YouTube star. Great job.

M Tariq says:

how much you charge for this, parts and labour

Brandon Rucker says:

If you dont want to buy the pliers, I disconnected the power steering pump from the air box and took out the air box. Made a world of difference for an extra 5 mins of work. Thanks for the video, just replaced mine!

NTH Welding says:

Did you clean off the accessory drive belt?
