Dodge Chrysler 3.5L Timing Belt and Water Pump Installation I Saved a Ton of Money!!!
Dodge Chrysler 3.5L Timing Belt and Water Pump Installation I saved over $800 by doing the timing belt and water pump installation myself and I want to show you how you can too! I called the local Dodge Jeep Chrysler dealer to get an estimate on getting the timing belt and water pump replace, they told me I should expect to pay $1000. I purchased this Gates TCKWP295D Timing Belt Kit for my 2005 Dodge Magnum 3.5L for $167. This is an interference engine so if your timing belt is broken, this kit will not fix your car however, in the case that a belt slips or stretches, you might be ok. I considered myself lucky. The car had some unusual engine codes which point to bad timing belt symptoms: P0113, P2314, and P061C. After some investigating online I felt pretty confident that the timing had jumped and I decided to purchase this kit. After looking at other kits and reviews I found that some of them did not include the tensioner piston. This kit also had some of the higher reviews as well as number of reviews. Once installed, the car started up and ran great. Below are links to the parts that I used as well as the tools required to do this installation and a video that I thought was very helpful.

Great job thanks for posting.
How come no one shows the damper pull being taken off or replace. This makes me think it's a pain to deal with? Also., you can use one or those tools that make it easi]er to to install?
am i fucked if my crank sprocket and only the left camp sprocket jumped backwards after removing tension, if not how do i fix my issues? thanks
Do you need that special tooll to lock the camshafts first?
My car has a rich mixture on both banks, code p0172&p0175and starts sometimes well sometimes a little hard, lacks a little power and I have the check engine light on. I suspect the timing is a little off because I also have a big difference between the cam and the Crunk – 29
Where do you find the torqe specs for getting everything back as it was?
Do you need to take the tensioner off or could it just stay on?
Man I had one come in and it wasn’t even the water pump, was the o rings that go to the housing that the water pump goes into.like 5 bolts and it’s really hard to take out the cam bolts because they are very long
I was told it's best to change the cam gears when you change the timing belt because they get worn down
Good video, can You tell me what are the torque expects for all replacement parts? Thanks
Question my left cam moved out of alignment , is there a way to realign it back ?
STUPID DESIGN LIKE NISSAN AND FORD'S 3.5 ECOBOOST
So my son has this same motor 3.5 2010 dodge charger his belt broke on the freeway what our my chances knowing that it is an interference motor of slapping a new belt on and praying the valves didn’t kiss the pistons..
Hello so I’m doing this today any I realized all my pulleys are not center with the marks, how should I go about lining them correctly (I have Chrysler 2009 300 touring 3.5l)
Absolutly fantastic, you should be a mechanic teacher…not many detailed instructors out there
The cam weren't lined up
You probably have a missed to it because you probably have slight damage to one or more of the valves being that you were at least three off
Thanks dude. Good video
Old time rubber wedge style door stops from dollar store work great to hold belt or chain in placewhile lineing up marks droll a hole and attach a lawnmower starter rope and handle if u need to retain a chain like replaceing cam seal or pulling a cyl. Head u can shove wedge down and yank it out with rope
Should have put rags under the crank to catch loose stuff
Awesomeness
