James Woody says:

Hi Scotty, I truly love your videos, your blend of goofy humor and insight into cars has such variance from those who take themselves too seriously. My question is one of Maintenance. I have a 2015 Mazda 3 GT.. It has been a wonderful car(and I have owned some clunkers, so I KNOW). I currently have 65,000 miles on it and change the oil(with synthetic as required by my warranty) every 7500 miles. I have not done anything else to it except brakes, tires, and wiper blades. I am looking to give it a little tlc.. Transmission fluid and filter, air filter and ??????? That is my question, what would you recommend to keep things as close to new as possible.. It is the 2.5 liter model, but I think there are a lot of us out here with newer cars, that are well built(BY THE JAPANESE!!! I had to fight with 3 dealers to make sure I got a Japanese made one and not a Mexican made one), and want to do preventive maintenance on a budget without necessarily following the dealers playbook. Tx in advance..

DashCamAndy says:

Another cause for difficulty shifting into Reverse from Park is from letting the car lurch forward after shifting to Park the last time it was driven. (Release the brake pedal gently and let the car slowly ease forward, or set the parking brake if it works properly.) That lurch forward puts excessive pressure on the parking pawl inside the transmission, and requires more force to shift out of park. My mother is guilty of this, no matter how many times I yell at her, or for how many years.

David Daugherty says:

There are 2 or 3 Tesla owned repair garages in Houston. I know the one by me is up on the North Freeway

Robert P says:

$40K? Sounds like a car be bought off lease from the caddy dealer, warranty good still and so called certified. People I guess like the idea of the 1 yr factory warranty. My 2017 BMW X3 was returned recently off lease 29k miles, mint, had a residual of just under $30K. Same warranty.

JONAS GRUMBY says:

I think Scotty added an extra 0 to $4,000

Shekhar Moona says:

Kyle Schack says:

You could make arguments all day, this one is set in his ways.

Jason GUNN says:

your crazy man. any vehicle you don't take care of will do the same. If you can't afford the cadillac don't buy one. Your just crazy to think like this.

Morgan says:

The person asking about the Amazonbasics engine oil must be from Canada as you can’t get it here.

Mark Burton says:

Every luxury vehicle sees massive depreciation in the first few years. At least with Cadillac it shares its drivetrain parts with other GM vehicles so they are cheaper and widely available.

The Mexican Joker says:

02 DeVille with 149k still drives really well, however a lot of plastic parts are starting to break. If you drive under 65 and you do your own maintenance your caddy will be alright, if not you got a deep money pit.

Mike F says:

Scotty bad design is the major problem with Americans and European car not quality control get that.

Mike F says:

Scotty point of correction, most Americans and European car are not bad quality control but bad design.

phillymiz215 says:

Charles M Rinehart says:

I laugh at everyone who drives a Cadillac SUV.

Mavado Roaster says:

ill take my 1990 coupe deville over a pos Toyota any day

Hart Fischer says:

A Cadillac CT6 for 40 k with 36k miles ? It depends on what options this car had when new, to determine if that was a reasonable deal. If this was a 70k or more car, this is a reasonable value. My 2014 CTS is unbelievably reliable. Absolutely nothing is breaking so far, at 70k miles. But as always, Scotty is such a negative cynical person that he has nothing good to say about anything.
