Replace battery 2015 Buick Regal

This shows a tricky cover problem when replacing the engine battery, not the key fob battery. No disclaimer or safety tip, I assume you know the basics.

I knew this was something I was headed to do. I knew I didn't have an extension, so I was ready to get creative. Had it out in less than 10 minutes. Thank you for the video.

Thanks for sharing. I had to replace mine yesterday and found a couple things.

1) The "ABS" plastic that is used on these covers is the worst and doesn't age well so you have to be a little gentle. I ended up snapping off some of the smaller clips on the battery box cover and the hinge to the positive peek-a-boo port. I ordered a new one on Amazon although not 100% required and will install in a few days when it shows up. Sadly, that cover is part of an assembly (20914309 Fuse Box Battery Terminal with Cover). The part number GM stamped on the cover alone is 525230582 but it's part of that battery box assembly. Good news is that it was only $30.39 before taxes on Am-zon. Looks pretty straightforward to install.

2) There is only one bolt holding the battery in on the bottom. That is the one you showed. It turned for me with a 13mm socket. The battery base slides into a channel on the bottom backside of the box.

The replacement battery I had shipped to me ended up being a dud with a bad cell so I'll be back at it tomorrow when the replacement battery arrives.

Thanks again. You saved me some time figuring that removal out.
