If you stand near a modern diesel or an old benz, your lungs will notice.
They only smoke if they have neglectful owners.
God damn it, Scotty, when will you have an old benz by your shop and drive the thing already and see what's the hype about these old beasts.
Think about it, I get on average 58 to 64 miles around town, on a long run I get 76 to 84 miles, the engine in my car is a 1.5 turbo diesel, look at the average petrol engined car on American roads, consumption between 22 to 34 miles on a long run if your lucky, petrol engines produce nasty chemicals at the tail pipe too.
If Diesel's are outlawed, you can bet your life it will not be because of health concerns, I would wager its more likey to be from greedy fuel companies that know Diesels get excellent fuel economy, the fuel companies don't like that, and car manufactures that know that diesel engines run for several hundreds of thousands of miles before needing serious repairs,
No, I think its just another case of greedy companies lobbying the government, and the public not being allowed to have too much of a good thing, by interfering government little Hitler's !
I bought a Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2003, a friend of my father thought it was a rubbish decision. Yesterday he actually bought this very same BMW but in white. Am I evil if I show him this video?

Also, CO2 is plant food. Carbon dioxide is not poison, it stays in atmosphere at most 4 years . It is not radioactive, it has no half life. Tax it. Tax oxygen . Tax all life air. Co2, H2o, and nitrogen.
Expecially tax nitrogen since it's 79% of the atmosphere .

The best thing about true capitalism is that you, as a consumer, have a choice to buy or not to buy something. In Communist countries like Canada, you dont have a choice. You have to 'buy' public healthcare even if it sucks. You have to 'buy' public schools even though they are terrible. And you have to 'buy' Canada Pension plan contributions even though you are unlikely to ever see that money once you retire. In Canada, we have to pay 9% of all our income to the Canada Pension plan but the thing is that the govt doesnt save that money for our retirement – they spend it, inflate the currency and then raise the retirement age so they eventually dont have to pay it out.

This diesel crap in Europe was forced by our governments through 90s and 2000s…"buy diesel, buy diesel" that is why here more than 50% cars are diesels. Now they are diesel pollute like crazy, that is why VW cheated there is nothing you can do about them. Now they force "buy EV, buy EV".
Stupid things happen when government decides about stuff they don't know nothing about.
Only good thing about diesels is there are torque monsters from low rpms… makes it so pleasant for daily commutes.
