I found a written DIY for E36 and it seems like all the hardware is similar
and it mounts in much the same way. Did you buy the mounting hardware from

Questions: are these E30 specific side skirts from BMW? Did you buy the
hardware from BMW as well? The reason I ask is i have a 95 E36 sedan. I got
side skirts from a 98 and want to install them on my car. It looks like the
mounting is similar. That’s why i asked if they were from an E30 or E36.

They are E30 specific. If your side skirts from the 98 are from an e36 then
it still would fit.
