It’s important to understand that it’s not just the valve cover gasket that’s a problem, it’s the whole darn plastic valve cover. The PCV Valve is built into the cover and non-serviceable. At higher mileage like this car it’s a good idea to replace the whole cover.

the valve covers crack or warp over time so yeah since its plastic its a wear item
Thats why everyone sells them at 60k mileage
