I am wanting to find my two VANOS solenoids on B38 triple petrol. Can you please give me clues as to how to find them? Auxilary belt is at engine front. spark plugs along length of vehicle towards rear.

BLU3 says:

I just got a 2008 m5 v10 as my second car. I love it but when i bought it the CEL codes were 271A, 271B, 271C, 271D. They are solenoids for the vanos pump so it is sluggish running but hey when you pay $4,500 cash, i kinda expected this

Adrian Deleon says:

What about the process for the e60… I didn't get the oem I got aftermarket ones ..would it work fine?

Donald Barron says:

Great show. Did you notice any difference after the install since you were not having any problems ?

ERG Grimoire says:

Damn can we can some torq specs perhaps I see way too many of these diy videos that just say nothing about specs

suprafan2jz says:

Thanks for this! Doing some due diligence for my 335 and when I saw "Vanos" solenoid was a common problem for N54 and N55, my blood pressure started to rise. Because Vanos usually means money! But now I can relax after seeing how simple this replacement is. Gotta love the simplicity of a straight 6.

Clayton Sary says:

Does it matter which connector goes to the solenoid?

BLAZENYCBLACKOPS says:

Just a heads up to anyone doing this themselves, don’t mix up the power cables, make sure you put the correct one back, if you do one at a time then you should be fine. Also the actual solenoid’s themselves can be interchangeable because they’re exactly the same, but like I said just don’t mix up the power cables. On the website us.autologic.com there’s a step by step guide with photos showing not only the replacement process but how to test the power at each cable as well, the website is incredible and I suggest checking it out before doing any work on your vehicle.

IrocJared says:

Just think, this is how vanoss got his name.

Eddie Ellison says:

Are they the same? 2 needed ,with two separate functions?

마징가 says:

Do I need to reset ecu after replacing solenoid?

Avyon Sanchez says:

Does it come with two solenoids or do you have to buy 2

Devon Woods says:

Are they both the same sensor?

David Lawless says:

Great video. Dealer wanted $1157.00 to replace these. Easy peasy.

Zach Reyes says:

What are the torque specs?

David Temple says:

a friend was helping me change my intake Vanos ( top ) and move the towel now we lost the 10mm bolt, before we took the Vanos out. Anyone know the length I need so I can go grab one at home depot or parts store?

Simon s says:

"Torque it down" …..doesn't provide the torque setting….no point in this "tutorial"

Stanley Gilliam says:

where are they located on the 328i twin turbo engine? i believe its a n20

Moattaz Mabrouk says:

My car is shaking after around 30 minutes of running in hot weather and then it stops, I have no fault code shown in the dashboard. It could because of vanos of fuel pump?

Ignacio Romero says:

any programming ? learning required?
