Cars dont have heaters.
Heat comes from under your motor valve cover. As car gets hotter, so is your air from the vents.
Air circulating in a space under valve cover gets warmed up by the heat of the engine, thats how you get heat.
This is evaporator. It evaporates freon and creates frosty condensation when it does. That condensation melts and drips under your car when you stop, thats why its wet when you take off after using conditioner.
That is not the evaporator, that is the heater…
