James thanks very much for an excellent video ,I really liked u showing
your thought process how to diagnose can signal faults. Its always very
difficult when the parts are so expensive are non returnable! Quick
question would that faulty waveform have shown up at pins 6 & 14 on the obd
link connector cheers sandy

what led you right to the main module and not chase the others as a

Great video James, the best I’ve seen on can diagnosis so far. A great
illustration that multiple faults often have a common denominator, and
having a good diagnostic process will always lead you to the root cause.
Fantastic case study great info you gave there top class. Great for me
being a vag tech also. Look forward to some more case studies.
Think I answer my own question..If the issue was still there when you
disconnected then you would chase other modules..
I have an understanding of the basics of CAN but if I’m honest I must say
that if I was presented with a fault like this I probably would have
thought more CAN’T than CAN and would have turned the job away. After
watching this video I certainly feel more confident and would definitely
connect up the Pico and have a go.
