An easier way to remove the lens is by putting the whole housing in your oven at the lowest it goes. Approx 125 deg C or around 300 deg. F. Leave it in there for about 5-10 mins watching it the whole time it’s in the oven, test it after five mins to see how well it’s working. I’ve successfully opened a dozen or so headlight housing this way. The heat gun is a good second choice but it takes a lot longer to completely remove the lens.

Clive Williams says:

cool idea. plan to do a led install on my car soon

GolfMK4Tdi says:

not bad!

NightOwlhxc says:

Also a little note. try not to experiment with the wiring, dont be cheap and buy a DMM to test which wires have current running through it. You will damage components. Its only OBVIOUS the black wire is ground. this video is quite entertaining. aha

NightOwlhxc says:

Yeah, it came out pretty nice, with the wiring so the turn signals match the LED strip. But dont toss your headlight lens on the floor. This is why I work on my car myself.

bingo190 says:

You work very dirty

TNOE CLAN says:

the turn signal was sick

Daniel Krushka says:

how do you set up the indicator like that??

LAMY WAMY says:

Nice walk through!

trevinojose52 says:

Dude really? U don’t have to experiment with the wires u get a test light and test the wires its obvious the black wire is ground u only have 2 wires to work with duh

gundamxzero3 says:

Where did u get the leds? I’ve looked at some and they seem dull.

summerdying111 says:

Time for the grand finally and that shit did’t work lol. He tried to hide that shit. Don’t try that on your car !

summerdying111 says:

Terrible idea! You broke the seal and now your lights are exposed to humidity and they are gonna fog up in the inside and trap moisture. Oh boy…

Nidennis Be says:

So complicated @@

Melquiades Jacob says:

Dude, nice mod but be more careful in twisting the cover on the pavement. You should use some newspaper or soft towels to avoid scratching it.

Angus Chin says:

where did you buy the led lights? and where do you buy the heat gun ?

Eric E says:

fucking idiot good way to scratch that shit

CBRFRENZIE says:

Doing it on the cement is a good way to scratch the headlight… you did the same side as the side that was done from beginning, why not the grand finale, both completed and done… looks good, and gives it a different look..

martin villalobos says:

its alright good job

Michael Gonzalez says:

THE DRIVER SIDE STRIP DID NOT WORK, THE PASSANGER SIDE WAS ALREADY INSTALLED AND WORKING, DID NOT SHOW US A WORKING DRIVERSIDE LED STRIP!!!! COME ON NOW!!!! MAKE SURE YOUR SHIT WORKS BEFORE YOU SIGN-OFF

mrmelloman112 says:

If y’all looked closely he didn’t do the driver side. Watch it again.

gleichgewicification says:

Do I need a heat gun to remove and replace the housing? If I don’t have one would a blow drier work as well?

seanplayspearlexr says:

running the wire up against the halogen bulb? wouldn’t that melt?

Jim Loftus says:

“DYE-YAAAAA! I’M GONNA PUT THIS ON DA CONCRETE FACE DOWN AND SCRATCH THE F OUT OF IT!” What were you thinking?

heykuckma says:
