Hey everyone! We are excited to bring you this DIY. Recently, we picked up an upgraded Heat Exchanger from the guys over at Merc Racing. This is a dual core/quad pass unit. Merc Racing sent us the exchanger, as well as their install kit to take the guess work out of getting this thing hooked up correctly. We realize this is a longer video, but we wanted to go as in depth as possible on this one. Make sure you watch with the sound on as there is a voice-over talking about what’s going on in the video. If you have any questions or suggestions leave them in the comments, and make sure you Subscribe!

Update #1: In the video, when mounting the brackets to the crash bar, I accidentally put the washers on the bracket side instead of with the head of the bolt. This was a slip of the mind, and I didn’t think twice about it, because two of my bolts sank right into the groove that runs on the front of the crash bar. This locked them in and I didn’t even think about putting a washer between the two. Keep this in mind when you install.
Update #2: @ 5:50 I started explaining how to remove the passengers side coolant hose from your stock heat exchanger. It goes without saying, but I didn’t mention that you do the same thing to remove the drivers side coolant hose as well.
A couple minutes later I go over the contents of the merc racing install kit and mentioned that I only used 4 of the 6 hose clamps. That was a lie. I used all 6.
awesome. love my c7's great content.
Thanks a lot man! About to do this on my 14โ C7 3.0T. What kind of compressor you r using with this refiller?
Can I flush the coolant without using the vacum pump?
Thank you very much for the instructions
When are you doing the PCV , waterpump and thermostat DIY great videos
Did you disconnect the batter? I know itโs standard on domestic cars but I donโt know on these
I wish all Youtube instructional videos are like yours… Very helpful. Voice instructions are very clear and straight forward, video is clear, and it's great that you're using commonly available tools that everyone have access to.
How long does it take to receive from merc
Are You planning to make more videos? This videos are really helpful, I have a 2013 Audi A6 3.0T and this videos help me for maintenance.
if you need another A6 for install vidieos let me know and ill drop my 2013 3T off ๐
Waited for this video!! Amazing help, insight and detailed!
Many thanks from this new C7 owner!!
Where did u get your rs style grill? Thank u for your video. Going to do crank and supercharger pulley grill and heat exchanger at the same time. Thanks again. Awesome awesome video
Did you route hot/cold side correctly or am I confused. I thought Passenger side is hot side and should enter lower port and driver side is cold and should exit top port?
God fucking bless you, there are not many people who film the work on A6s. Thanks for the video, hope you'll post a lot more!
Can you show me pls where is 3rd hole for bleed of? Thank you very much
I own a C6, do you think it will fit?
Great video wish was here when i was shopping for heat exchange but only recommendation i would have will be to use Evan's Water High Performance Coolant i found that works a lot better than OEM but i also running stage 2+ with full bolt on's lol ๐ and for most ppl change the thermostat whilst you at it common issues along with plastic water pump on the audi b8 s4 they did revise the design to a metal one but not cover under audi warranty
At the 32:40 mark you grabbed a black hose and connected it to the bleeding tool. Can you explain what that hose was and the purpose of it?
I thought this was a mod for stage 2+. I didnโt know stock cars would benefit from the bigger heat Exchanger. I might have to look into this.
What album of chipmunks are you rocking? ๐ Good video!
how come the old heat exchanger stays on the car? is it used for anything or could it be removed?
How have you found the cooler so far?
Would you recommend it?
I donโt have access to the compression when filling the coolant . Is it easy to bleed manually?
Thanks
Nice! I have an c7 a6 and Audi wanted to charge me $857 to service!! ๐ any tips? My car keeps telling me to service
