Audi Fuel Injector Removal, New Seals & Reassembly From Carbon Cleaning | DIY Part 2

In today’s episode we are finishing up the Carbon Cleaning job from the previous video and installing all the new seals on the fuel injectors before putting everything back together. Its important to replace these seals when doing this job to prevent future leaks and repairs.

To remove these fuel injectors you will likely need a special tool, I used this one off Amazon for pretty cheap – https://amzn.to/3EvKmUB

This looks like a better removal kit though – https://amzn.to/3pU5ZtK

One major downside to all modern day direct-injected cars is that carbon deposits build up and needs to be removed every 20k – 80k miles depending on conditions, engine type (e.g. the RS4 V8 engine is more prone to carbon deposits). Carbon buildup is due to the fact that no fuel is being injected over the intake valves like in a more common port-injected car, but instead injected directly into the combustion chamber.

Any big difference on ticking sound after changing injectors?

Damien Heaphy says:

Done this to my 2.0 tfsi if you have time and other jobs to do at the same time could put some penetrating oil on the injectors and leave for abit removed mine with no tools

fccquoter says:

I have a 2013 S4 with 3.0T. most guys talk about pulling all the injectors and sending them off for GDI testing and cleaning. Curious of you opinion. If they car is running fine with just over 100k, how critical do you think it is to clean injectors at this point?

Nick Powell says:

Do I have to change all the o rings on top of the injectors I took off the manifold

Andrew G says:

Bank 1 intake flap p2006 brought me here and worse than usual gas mileage. Gonna swap out bank 1 for a used one and clean everything. New top and bottom intake o rings with a hpfp cam follower and i hope i get a few trouble free miles out of my b7

pensive introvert says:

Did you make sure that all the injectors go into the same cylinders? And if not, did you recode your injectors? Presumably they are not all identical physically and the ECM needs to know which is which.

Tom Harrison says:

Stop beating on Injectors. They are manufactured within 2 microns and replacing them with cloned Injectors from Amazon? You're dangerous man, stay away from cars !Lol.

Charlie Long says:

Thanks for a great video! Liked & subscribed right away. Great, clear photography from multiple angles with proper lighting, intelligent detailed narration without a bunch of "ummm", no stupid triphop techno soundtrack, and all of the tools and supplies linked in the description. There's a lot of youtube mechanics who could take some lessons from you. If you're looking for more things to make videos of, there has to be a way to replace the timing tensioners with the engine still in the car, right? (I hope)

The Beast says:

can you send me a link to Part 1?

Troy P says:

Do you have a recommendation for the injector Teflon sizing tools used, I was not able to find them?

War Inside My Head says:

Thanks bro, this video saved my life…my wife wanted to kill me for ruining her A5 Quattro S Line, or so she thought….amd saved me a couple G's…..The valves are spotless now and all new injectors….AND a few new tools to boot…Thank you again~~~

FallenGamingTV says:

Heya quick question. When ordering those new hitachi injectors, do they come with the cradle hold clip?

Ellis Simms says:

Can you reuse the 2 Metal cradle things. Of course all three seals need to be changed but can you reuse the Metal cradles??

Robert D says:

Have you considered a catch can ?

J Pru says:

Hi, thanks for the vid. Do you lube the top rubber o-ring seal? if so with what? Thanks!

ijdad99 says:

question for you. I am doing the PCV valve in my 3.0T. When I removed the intake on the passenger side, which is required, it pulled one of the injectors out with it. Not sure what to do now. Although it's stuck in the manifold, it does wiggle around so I'm thinking I can get it out of there no problem. But then the injector is out of the engine. I originally wrote asking if I need a full gasket kit to reinstall, but decided the answer was yes and bought a kit, and the tool from Amazon. Appreciate the video. If you have any suggestions on getting the injector out of the manifold, that'd be great.

Dennis Strong says:

Hay Cole, do you work at a shop? I am looking to get this done on my 2010 3.2

Nann_1Sturdy5 says:

When you ordered the lower intake gaskets, are they sold individually, or come in a set of 6? The description confused me.

In the middle of tackling this myself and your video is a HUGE help. Thanks a lot.
