Darryl Chambers says:

What about the side airbags though? presumably you were in front of these when running the cable front to back?

Vesko Avdzhiev says:

Nice video Tnx

Chris Villareale says:

Totally used this video to help with my new day cam. Didn't go with this one or the blackvue haha! Just curious about the wire for the rear camera. I figure you ran it along the headliner. Did you just go under the airbag or all the way down and back up around the airbag?

Chris Villareale says:

Awesome video. Curious your comments on the dashcam after 1yr of use? Still going strong? I'm trying to decide between a Blackvue or I might go with this one!

kelvin gil says:

Did you read anything about using the OBD2 connector? I wonder if is better to use that plug, or hardwire.

Mario Moreno-Vega says:

Thanks Tommy, very helpful tutorial. I used it to install the same dashcam. However, I am experiencing one issue: the camera seems to loose power randomly. a few minutes into the drive, the camera switch itself off, and then (also sometimes) it regain power!. Most times it remain off though. Any idea if has anything to do with the connection to the fuse box? the strange thing is, that when you turn the ignition on, it always comes on (so it doesn't seem to be a dodgy cable connection)….any idea is welcome…..

Paw Paw says:

Tommy – great video, really helpful. Any tips to open or remove the fuse box cover? I was able to remove the A-pillar trim, dash side trim and trims at the front and bottom of the door frame. I pushed aside the carpet and flipped open the 2 top and 2 bottom clips of the fuse box cover, but the cover still won't pull off. Any suggestions? Is there another clip or holder inside the fuse box cover?

Anshu S says:

thanks for this video man! i have the "little brother" of both your cars (mine is an F30 335i and my wife has a 2020 XC60) so your videos come in handy!

Allen Goldschmidt says:

Is there any way to tap into the power from the rear view mirror without running wires down the A pillar?

Peter W says:

This is an amazingly helpful video. Thanks so much! I'm just having trouble with the connection at 10:14 — I have been able to remove the rubber gasket cover from the plastic pieces that clip inside the openings. However, I can't seem to extricate the plastic pieces from the openings whatsoever. I see you were able to do it, and it is necessary to do so because the rubber needs to be wrapped around these pieces and then reattached into the openings. Help would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Rakesh Reddy says:

Great video.. how did you tuck the cable under the headliner, can you give some instructions on that?

Sam Hickman says:

Great video! Helps let me see what I'm about to get into. To get the cable to the rear hatch, did you have to drop the whole headliner or were you able to work it back slowly? Blendmounts are a must have for Volvos as there is a sensor in the cover between it and the glass. Good to see more and more people are using them. I used one to mount a BlackVue DR900x. I'm finally getting around to installing the rear camera.

Alex Odou says:

I will do it, thank you very much!!

Alex Odou says:

Great video, I was able to fish the cable the same route you explain, but how do you remove the cable rubber protection to fish the cable to the rear camera?

Tim Steventon says:

Excellent, really helpful. Thanks.

Lee Nilsson says:

Great video. I picked up my brand new XC90 two days ago. I was a bit worried about hardwiring my dashcam. I didn't realise you could remove the pilar. I'm so glad you showed how to fit the rear camera and putting everything back together again. I've also ordered a mirror mount for my dashcam, didn't know they existed. Many thanks.

hh h says:

Hi, how can I remove the weather strip?

Vick Patel says:

I don't see a link for fuse wire.

theclutch says:

FYI, your add-a-circuit (AAC) is on UPSIDE DOWN which could cause you some electrical issues/fire… The red wire should be pointed DOWN not up. The hot side of the fuse slots is the top. The ACC hot side is the side furthest away from the red wire and that's the side that should go to the top side of the fuse slot… Thank me later… OR thank me now by telling me how to take off the bottom 2nd row middle panel between the door and the seat so that I can run my rear dash cam wires through it. I don't want to break any tabs…

MBisFrenchy says:

How did you pop the tube in the trunk open? Did you just pull or pry it up?

hemant patel says:

Nice work dude…

Rizwan Hakeem says:

great video with good simple instruction

compaholic83 says:

I have the 2019 S60 R Design and was looking at using the mirrortap kit from blendmount that taps into the rearview mirrior power. I figure that way is possibly less hassle than having to run the wire down the pillar and tap into the fuse box. Can't seem to find any instructions on how to disassemble the rearview mirrior cluster though without breaking it. Is therea reason you didnt go that route versus tapping into the fuse box?

Autiger6871 says:

Great instructions. Just what I needed to install a dash cam in my xc90.

H J says:

Nice! I've bought a hidden camera for long time. Finally I find this video showing the wiring!

Who Knows says:

Hi, will the back camera's cable interfere the side inflatable curtain air bag? The way you tucked it in the sides.

theclutch says:

You rock!!! Thank you!

Gee says:

Where did u find such a long connection wire?

Alexis Guillen says:

Great video & easy to follow. I'm looking at the Garmin 66W with the parking mode to monitor when my XC90 is off. What fuse should I connect to so it's always on? Should I be concerned about battery drain? Thanks again, just subscribed.

Performance J says:

Here in Australia, police is using anti radar detector system which will be caused a huge fines if get busted
