I like the video but you do not explain what to look for to diagnose the
cracked part,
We kinda had the same problem with our 2006 v70. But it was one of those
things that lifts the hatch and holds it open.
That I can definitely agree with…are you not able to open yours…what’s
the issue and I may be able to call my buddy to see what he says…

Sorry bud…My buddy that did all of that literally spent about 4 or so
hours looking for the culprit…It was very annoying. Initially we bought a
new locking mechanism and there was no fix. Returned that to Volvo and he
just troubleshot like a Dr.
