Because Jason has done this many, many times before. But if you’re unsure of the torque settings we certainly recommend using a torque wrench.
Why don’t u use a constant tension wrench?
I’m about to change my plugs in my 960. Thanks for putting up this helpful video.
Thanks for taking the time to do this video. Very helpful
this video was very helpful, my shop wanted to charge over 125 bucks to do this, I did it in about an hour and it cost me the price of OEM plugs, a tube of dielectric grease and a little ketchup sized packet of anti-seize, the turbo hose takes a bit to get the clamps loose but once out, okey dokey
I believe the plug gap is 0.028, it should say on the spec sticker under your hood. If you’d like some more help don’t hesitate to give us a call, 1-860-388-9001
What is he correct plug gap for a 2005 s60 2.5t? I replaced my plugs and now have a misfire, any help would be good
You could assume it is a gap problem, depending on how intense the misfire is. We would give the replaced items a once over to ensure everything was installed properly. Spark gap is the most likely, or a vacuum leak is also a possibility.
The gap is .028″ but take caution, the gap is not adjustable on certain plug brands. Give us a call if you have any other questions, 1-877-634-0063
My question is in reference to a 2001 Volvo S-40. What is the ideal spark plug gap measurement? Also, after changing the spark plugs, the s-40 has started to skip when accelerating sometimes. It has not done this before the tune-up. How should I troubleshoot this problem?
@Tony Michalak yes, they are all t30
Volvo states 30Nm for spark plugs.
Where can I buy the best spark plugs for a 2001 Volvo s60 turbo
There’s two t25 torx on the intake and a 7mm hose clamp on the turbo side. It’s pretty self explanatory but let us know if you have any trouble.
soo what if you did have a boost pipe? like for example like me (volvo s60 t5) how do you remove the pipe?
AS always use only VOLVO plugs
and what about applying dielectric grease to the seals?
We asked around a little and got an answer from a few dealers of “Finger tighten then a 1/2 turn more” we dug a little deeper and found some specs stating 30nm or about 22ft. lbs. If anyone can back up those specs or an alternative please post them.
hmm ya what about the anti-seize (paste looking material) …i thought that should be applied too. and even if there is no torque wrench how should one know how much to tighten.
Thanks Troll !!!
Enjoy your bridge !
