I believe the buckle is just bolted to the floor. If you pull the lower seat cushion you should see the bolt. Next time I go to the salvage yard, I shoot a video.

Thank you for all your videos for the 850! You have provided such great info. Is there any d way you can do a video on replacing the rear seat belt BUCKLE (driver’s side, if it makes a difference)? The seatbelt clip no longer latches on when inserted into the buckle. Thanks!

There is one in a ’99 S70 in a junk yard near me. I believe they charge about $30 for them. They think they are the automatic retractable ones since it has the SRS re-tractor on it. Let me know if you need help with getting one, send me a private message. If the ’99 wont work the 850 ones will. The ’98 S70 is a cross over car for many things.

Thanks for the info. My 98 S70’s seatbelt stopped pulling out yesterday. I Googled it, read some stuff, pulled it all apart and started trying to fix it today. Not knowing what I was doing, I almost pulled the orange SRS cable out without disconnecting the battery cable. Glad I didn’t. I now know that I was also pushing and pulling on the seats airbag sensor. Wow. I should’ve searched for a video on it first. Do you by any chance know of a good place online to try to get a used seatbelt?
