Just done as the video says but it was quite hard to release the cap. Once
it came off I struggled to release the clip as the visibility is very
restricted and I really couldn’t see what I was doing. Eventually got a
small flat-bladed screwdriver in and flipped the clip. Then struggled to
release the spade terminally. Used the screwdriver blade again. Then found
the dipped beam is a different bulb to the headlight and I haven’t got
one!!!

I am going to try it. Thanks

Kris Kasprzak says:

it may be a relay–basically the headlight switch controls a relay and the
relay is way carries the current to the headlight. I’m not sure where the
headlight relay is. The tail light relays are in the trunk so I suspect the
headlight is under the hood. Look for some big black case and inside there
will be some relays in the shape of a cube. I’ll guess the head light one
is faulty. This happened to my tail lights–bulbs fine but didn’t
work–replaced the relay and all was fine. Maybe?!?

i have a 2001 volvo s80 and my high beams dont work at all. I got the bulbs
check and they told me that they are great and something is wrong with the
electrical switch, because when i switch to high beams, and just stays at
my regular low beams and no high beams at all.

i have a 2001 volvo s80 and my right passenger side headlight appears to be
shinning lower than my left driverside headlight and the left one actually
looks brighter also, i think its because one is tilted. i do sometimes get
the dipped beam messages and i recently replaced both bulbs with the same
brand and no change.. any ideas what this can be or how i can adjust them.

i never had dipped beam failure as display..i only had “low beam bulb
failure”..and i usually first disconnect the plug and then remove the
pin..but great video

Billy Reyes says:

can you video on how to install a motor starter

Kris Kasprzak says:

perhaps check the voltage to each light? They should be the same. Have you
posted a note on volvospeed dotcom or volvoforums dotcom? Good sources for
questions like this.
