Good, I'm glad a reason can be found for keeping all those LR mags . . . ! Keep the hinges well oiled. Must have been quite a gap in the door to let so much water in.

When i did my hinges, i couldnt, for the life of me get the bloody door to close properly… still working on it. ( i actually use a ratchet strap to keep the door closed, how sad is that)

On a related note, I found that rain was getting "sucked" in through the bottom of my tailgate because the door seal only barely touches the bottom of the door.
If you look at your rear door you'll probably see a mark where the seal touches the door all around the top and sides but, if it's anything like mine, there's no mark on the bottom because the seal isn't high enough to make good contact with the door.
A quick fix for that is to pull the door seal off the bottom of the door (no need to remove it completely) and then apply a strip of self-adhesive 15mm x 10mm draught-excluder foam just behind the metal ridge the seal attaches to.
The draught excluder strip won't actually help seal anything but it'll lift the sealing surface of the door seal up so it makes better contact with the rear door.
Takes about 10 minutes and (for me, at least) it made the seal watertight AND even reduced road noise.
Another job off the list!
