Another great episode of shady tree mechanic. I hope no one expects the shocks come out that easy after seventeen years, other than that decent video.

I love Volvo

Torque is 80Nm for the lower strut bolt and 60Nm for the upper nut. It's in the Haynes manual.

David Jackson says:

Is it usually that the shocks will wear out before the springs? I'm curious if it's possible I could get away with just replacing the shocks on my 2001

gvcolor says:

Any issues with ground clearance on pulling the shock out if I have the car up on jack stands in the garage and not on a pro's lift?

Excellent instructional video.

Just installed my new front struts and rear shock absorbers that i ordered from 1A Auto. Installation was pretty easy and now it rides like a Volvo should ride ! 🙂 Thanks 1A Auto !

Sine Metu says:

Thanks. Would love to see a spring replacement video.

Frederick Thoms says:

Very detailed video. but I cannot understand why you wouldn't change the mount at the same time – they wear too and pretty much every Volvo I've changed the rear shocks on required a mount replacement too.

Christopher Lewis says:

Do you have a video for the rear coil replacement for the same vehicle?
