How to Replace a Broken Temp Sensor Thermistor on 2010 Volvo XC90 | 1999-2007 S60, S80, XC70, V70

Complete walkthrough changing the thermistor on a 2010 Volvo XC90. This applies to all P2 Volvo cars ranging from years 1999-20014. This is how to potentially fix your volvo climate control module if it is too hot or too cold. This will get your Volvo heat or Air Conditioning working.

You will need an NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) resistor for this. You CANNOT use a PTC Resistor here. Any thermistor will work that is 10K ohms @ 25C. Below is a link to the one I used.

@tanbinkeong says:

I did the same, broke the thermistor.

@BarryMaduegbuna-rn2tq says:

Wow you did a great job, please can it the reason why my 2005 Volvo xc90 blower not producing air?

@civic3g says:

Thank you very much. I fixed Volvo S60 cabin temp sensor with 10k thermistor and now temperature control works just like it should be. Before the fix heater just gave very hot or very gold, nothing between those πŸ˜€

My heaters are stuck on heat and thermistor broken would this fix my problem

@philipthompson5346 says:

Definitely like the video it helped me out a lot, I need to know where you got those wires from so I can go ahead and put them in mind myself. I got my tore open so I know they had broken half there on a power surge I had with trying to jump a dead battery. Mostly appreciated if you could and let me know thanks

@TheTrothKeeper says:

Thank you for walking through this process. I have to do this on our 06 V70 as the temperature is all over the place… And re-solder the fan volume resistor connections.

@RW-ds4dj says:

Not bad, not bad at all, but a bit heavy heat-tool I think πŸ™‚

@willmill409 says:

My heater on 08 xc90 blows warm then cold for like 2 seconds then warm. It goes back and forth in same intervals or pattern. Wondering if this could fix it

@darbydreher9537 says:

Thank you for your insight. I will give this a try. Purchased my 06 xc90 v8 used and it came with fluctuating hot/cold air on passenger side only. And it sounds like a puppy grunting. I looked at thermistor and it appears to be missing. Just a wire left. Hopefully this corrects the issue so my passenger doesn't freeze in winter.

@chrisbarker616 says:

Hi I’m getting hot air on the drivers side but blowing cold on the passenger side will this problem be down to this?
Thanks

@Mark-is9dx says:

ViDA advised the cabin temp sensor signal too high / signal missing. The blower motor isnt working, is this a symptom on your car?? I've not got any other codes on the ccm

@timbermansam says:

Great video. Can you explain the correlation between the service airbag message and the battery? Curious because I just changed my CEM and now have the message. I disconnected the battery prior. Also, my blower suddenly stopped, now it’s working again! Do you think it has to do with needing a computer reset/camba? Thanks!

@green122s says:

Very well done. Thanks for doing this!

@leifbjarnemland9861 says:

Takk for presentasjon What is the spesifcation of the Thermistor and where to by it ?

@e60power1 says:

its sad there is not much videos and support on line for the xc90s. Thanks for your videos. great job!

@THiggins130388 says:

I've not broken my thermistor, but I need to clean mine out & I'm anticipating breaking it. So I've made sure to watch your video before my rough impatient hands have a go.
