2004-2014 S40,C70,V50 and the C30. There are other ones as well. It's a Ford/Volvo pump. That's from when Ford owned Volve era. Lol.

Ren Amamiya says:

Volvo part in an fbody, interesting choice

Adam Whitt says:

Good to see you finally did it. I remember you talking about it in 2020 on TGO. I have one on the shelf for my car, i have the one with the remote reservoir.

Piotr Malewski says:

Not a fan of electrical power steering, I like to feel what front wheels are doing. Still, I'm impressed by how profesionally and cleanly you build this car. It would take me years just to figure out how to connect the cables.

Mat Helm says:

Does he ever say WHY?

bob d says:

This is not electric power steering this is an electric power steering pump lol. Two different things entirely

tallcamaroguy says:

You could have been the tallcamaroguy

HouseofNo says:

Congrats on 100k subs. Thanks for the video upload. You're quite fortunate that despite breaking your pump, these power steering pumps are relatively simple devices. On my car, a 1988 BMW 750iL, it uses a dual vane pump that drives not only the steering, but also the power brakes and the rear self-leveling suspension (which I will be deleting soon). On my car, this engine-driven hydraulic pump going bad costs an eye-watering $2,127.10 to replace. While unfortunate, that would be a strong financial motivation to at least experiment with going with an electric power steering conversion.

3rd Gen Junkies says:

Cast aluminum is weak as hell, any little resistance and it will break

Joseph Holycross says:

I'm using a pump similar to that out of a 2017 nissan quest van. It's horizontal.

Lars Manson says:

looks like you need a fender that one is beat up .

mike johnson says:

Aaaaannnddd you got rid of that shitty fender! (hopefully)

Nathan Popham says:

Excellent work.

Nathan Popham says:

Paid 60$ for my pump. I’ve done this in my own dd turbo ls swap. I put mine in the trunk. I did one on a drift car and put it behind the seat. I have also put one beside the rad under the headlight. If you just run the one wire setup I think the system defaults to 75-80% for one setup the customer bought a module to control the % assist and turned it to the max and blew the end rack seals when it was full lock really hard. So a little research and maths would pay off 80% of the Volvo pump was about 90% of the Nissan rack or something. I ride with 80% on my Mazda rx8 rack

carlos melgoza says:

I forgot electric ps swap from volvos were a thing lol

jwhittredge says:

Man, Congratulations on 100k!!! Well earned!!! I have learned so much from you. Thank you! A lot of these videos, I go back and watch as they are 100% helping with my '86 LS swap IROC-Z!!! Keep pushing great content, Matt. I'll be sharing your videos and purchasing from your Amazon store. Thanks for setting that up as well! And, here's to hitting 1M subscribers! Cheers, brother!!!

227chevyguy says:

Dieterich says:

Epic video once again!

DesperadoGarage says:

Hey Matt there's an autocross event this September 16th at Lime Rock Park hosted by Gorman Performance. I called out some suburban and Tahoe owners and other racecars are welcome like Camaros, gtos, miatas etc, corvettes, mustangs, Porsches etc. Right now I have three other suburbans going up against me and it's only $150 do you got what it takes? Let me know we would like to have ya. It would be modified vs stock, cammed and not cammed class.
