Brett Bain says:

hi if this part was not working would it make the engine shudder? I’m
getting two readings. one rpm sensor g28 and the other is cam sensor g40.
the car won’t start and if it dose it takes longer to start and the engine
shudders! it’s a vw polo 1.4 tdi. thanks

VWGenuineParts says:

If it stopped working all together the engine won’t run. However, if it had
an intermittent fault it is possible it would cause the engine to judder.
However, rather than taking an expensive chance, it would be worth booking
in with your local Volkswagen retailer. Kindest regards, Team

If I may suggest, you could start your videos with an overview of the
part’s position, and perhaps related/nearby components. Thanks for the how
to!

Hello! I have a VW 98 Passat V6 and I need to check the camshaft position
sensor. I am going to first: check the resistance and see if it falls
between the parameters, if they do meet the parameters, and the check
engine is still on, what can be done? thank you!

VWGenuineParts says:

Hi Tiago, that’s a great idea! Many thanks! We’ll do that in future vids.

Sounds like you’ve done everything you can for now. You’ll need to book it
in with a dealership for them to run a diagnostic.
