The leaves are driving my ocd nuts!

117villa says:

Is that penetrating oil u are spraying into each spark plug hole?

Thomas EXOVCDS says:

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! Simply because of age &
mileage… sure, could not hurt and can be considered as smart preventative
maintenance. On the other hand, they might be good for quite a while
longer. Most of my customers don’t want to pay for something that ain’t
broke.

Race Rainville says:

Great vid. What did you use to pull the coils?

Bungletronics says:

Do you have a video showing how to install the new spark plugs? I’ve been
unsuccessful in finding one. Thanks. Great video BTW.

Thomas EXOVCDS says:

Hi, thanks for watching & taking the time to comment! At the 3:34 mark you
can see a sticker on top of the valve cover… the engine code is printed
on there.

arkaydea77 says:

Awsome. Done deal going to change them. Cant hurt. Thanks for reply. really
helpfull.

Thomas EXOVCDS says:

Cleaner looking engine bay and room for other things off to the side.

Thomas EXOVCDS says:

No, just some compressed air to blow any debris out of the plug hole.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

Thomas EXOVCDS says:

Hi, I use a Hazet filter socket (2169)… watch my 2.5l oil change video.
You might be able to use channel lock pliers with a rag around the filter
housing… only tightened to 25Nm, so it should pop free somewhat easily.

Dre4dwolf says:

fucking germans, why they hide the air filter under all that shit.

Talha Riaz says:

Great video, thank you. I will try it this spring as I like working on the
car.

117villa says:

Thanks for replying. I’ve subscribed to your channel.

117villa says:

Do you need the ignition coil removal tool? I

arkaydea77 says:

Great Video, im about to do it next week. I have a 2009 rabbit w/ 84kmiles.
Havent been done yet. I dont mind putting extra care into my VW. Do you
recomend i put new coils since im changing the plugs. I guess it cant hurt.
Feedback is welcome.

Bryant Schubert says:

Do you know what type and size the oil wrench has to be? I have a 2010
jetta 2.5 thanks

Bryant Schubert says:

Thanks I already see it, but I have buy like 3 oil wrench and none of them
worked. I will try to buy that one and I hope that I can change the filter.
Thanks and I subscribed good videos.

Russell Reed says:

wheres the replacing video??

Thomas EXOVCDS says:

The tool is not needed but can make it easier to grab a hold of the coils.
You can find the tool on eBay, look for T40039.

Thomas EXOVCDS says:

As mentioned below… there is no need for an “Installation Video” since it
is the reverse of removal. Torque the spark plugs to what it says in the
Service Manual… you can apply a little bit of anti seize compound to the
threads if you like.

Thomas EXOVCDS says:

Cleaner looking engine bay and room for other things off to the side…
I’ve seen worse looking Domestic Engine Bay designs! 🙂

pedvag10 says:

Hi exo. How do I know wich type of engine I have ? cbua, cbta ?

Thomas EXOVCDS says:

No, but it makes it easier to grab and hold the coils.

Thomas EXOVCDS says:

I also use the same tool on TDI’s and on the spin-on filters of the old
1.8, 2.0 and 2.1 liter engines… I think vw kept the filter size the same
so 1 tool covers more engines. Thanks for subbing!

Thomas EXOVCDS says:

This is a pretty simple procedure… remove and then replace (install).
Like the title says: Removing. Once you have the old parts out, you install
the new parts… no further video needed.
