Volkswagen TDI – Dieselgeek EGR delete install

Volkswagen TDI – Dieselgeek EGR delete install

This is a step-by-step instructional video showing how I installed a race pipe and EGR cooler delete kit from Dieselgeek.com on my 2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI….

Oakroadend says:

You can buy them from Darkside Developments mate. have a google.

Greg Warburton says:

The sensor you were asking about in the video is a “Mass Air Flow Sensor” I
have a chip hooked to mine witch tells the ecm that the engine needs more
air compared to fuel.

Greg Warburton says:

Awesome!!! Thank you, I had the same problem on my jetta..

Gregk82 says:

Rofl @ you… That “butterfly plate” is not a throttle body.. Its a
anti-shudder valve only used on diesel engine shutdowns.. Has nothing to do
with egr.. ;P

Gregk82 says:

@ Cliff Knight

MaxPc King says:

Fuck the diesel! Pertol won!

mt vids says:

what size bore is that metal male/male connector and how difficult is it on
a scale of 1-10 (10 being hardest) to remove the EGR Cooler?

shel bot says:

Now yours is a 2002. Let’s imagine what my 86′ 1.6l TD is like :

Eugene Tarshikov says:

Did the check engine light come on?

got_drumline says:

I am surprised your car even ran with that kind of blockage. My S10 is
giving me a lot of trouble (stalling and power loss), and I am about to
take the EGR valve off to check it. If your car ran with the EGR looking
like that, then mine must be 100% blocked up full of crap.

Cliff Knight says:

True Fork. In a team effort. My father spent a lot of time in Russia in
WWII. He was a weapons designer. He died from radiation after testing
nuclear weapons. But I recall he would sometimes muse about a Russian man
with a wife and kids who was rather like him… also making nukes to
protect his country. He liked Russians a lot. This was the nature of the
Cold War..the enemy you fear and also admire. Warriors all, may they rest
in peace. We will never know all that they did for us

Fork Yuw says:

The Russians won WWII,

Basil Johnson says:

How did you clean your intake. Going to buy a tdi. And it has 441000km. On
it do I can imagine there is some build up. Buddy has lose of power getting
up to speed. But ran good it just started.

craig rodrigo says:

Search for Darkside Developments and they have EGR delete kits for sale.
They’re in the UK but ship worldwide.

Thekid2077 says:

hey great vid!! i found an egr delete kit from forge motorsports. it wont
let me post the link but if you look under the golf MK4 diesel that kit
will work.

RyanLeeProductions says:

I got it from the Dieselgeek website but they have since discontinued
selling all EGR delete kits unfortunately.

Dwainpipe21 says:

you total tit we use miles in britain not kms now who has a tiny brain and
as for ww2 yes of course america played a large part especially with the
huge industrial capacity but without britain you would have had no where to
fight the natzis from!

Mike Nuiver says:

Where did you get this kit??

Cliff Knight says:

I’m Australian. You talk a lot of bull and lie an awful lot. You don’t own
a VW, but instead had to hack up a VW engine to fit into a tiny Suzuki 4WD
engine bay. No American mechanical engineer would think that ripping out a
cars EGR is a good thing. You are the country who designed the system
sport. Then you put it into law for the rest of the world. So now you say
it was a big American mistake eh? Geez the country that won WWII single
handed are also incompetent? In your opinion only.

Cliff Knight says:

I am a Royal Navy trained mechanical engineer with 45 years experience. My
first job upon graduation was supercharging the Admirals diesel barge. My
specialty is gas turbines. Like many Americans your specialty is shooting
your big mouth off without knowing what you’re talking about. The people
who watch this video should know why it is that this boys VW diesel has
it’s engine warning light on all the time since he tore out half it’s guts

Cliff Knight says:

disabling an EGR will harm your engine. It will make your head run
unusually hot. Over time you will experience premature failure of major
mechanical components. On another plane it is a highly immoral thing to do

Cliff Knight says:

Air-Fuel equivalence ratio, λ (lambda), is the ratio of actual AFR to
stoichiometry for a given mixture. This varies by fuel type. Adding inert
gases does not alter lambda. Instead inert gases make the heat of
combustion lower by altering the chemistry of the fuel/air mix. The entire
thermodynamics of modern engines are designed around this phenomenon after
the smart engineer was told to stop polluting the planet. Grow up

Cliff Knight says:

that butterfly plate is also called a throttle oh brain dead one. I suggest
you get a woman to drive your car with the bonnet up and watch it’s
operation. Pick a winding mountain road while it’s snowing

Cliff Knight says:

explain simple for you: 1. engine hot > make bad gas kill you hmm.. smart
engineer have to fix em eh.. 2. add inert gas > not so hot not kill you 3.
no add inert gas? > engine get fucking hot!! 4. engine get fucking hot >
engine get fucking fucked

Cliff Knight says:

burnt exhaust gases act like an inert gas. When a % is mixed with the fuel
charge the combustion temperature is lowered. When combustion is lower than
2500C nitrous oxide pollutants can’t form. This applies to all forms of
internal combustion. A throttle plate is not normally needed in a diesel,
but was fitted specifically to create the vacuum required for an EGR
system. When you remove the EGR system your engines head will run
considerably hotter. I advise you to read up on this and learn

Cliff Knight says:

EGR gases are put in to reduce the temperature of combustion from 2500C to
around 2000C. When you remove the EGR your head will run hotter. This will
result in premature failure of injector seals, valves and alloy head
castings. Increased temp=increased pressure so there will be a lot more
piston blow-by and oil coming out the PCV. A team of engineers designed the
system. You don’t know more than a team of engineers. Harleys are so slow
it’s embarrassing

123Bosniak says:

Its illegal to have a automobile or motorcycle with a loud engine sound,
but Harleys are still rolling out there, loudly.

enguser1 says:

hay with my fiat punto 1999 disel, i put obstacle in gas recirculation, is
it a good idea?

Chaz Hill says:

Lol hey dude it’s a diesel. Its not illegal. Diesel doesn’t have to pass
emissions so it’s perfectly legal and will pass inspection all day long.

Cliff Knight says:

it is illegal to remove one of the engines main emission reduction systems.
This vehicle would be defected by any government Motor Vehicles department
and is unsaleable now
