In this video, I show how to remove and install the dipstick tube in my 2001 Volkswagen Golf TDI. This is a common part to break on these cars. Luckily, it’s an inexpensive fix! This was my second time replacing this tube since I’ve owned the car. The first time the tube had snapped off and this time it was just worn out from pulling the dipstick in and out. I hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

Good video thanks. The only one on this that shows that final click as you push the tube in place. Also, no background noise. Well done! JimMcFerry
I was hoping your video would show i was missing some sort of tab to hold the tube in place. The tube on mine comes loose when i check the oil.
Oh well, i guess not.
Good video! Thank you, for some reason I couldn't see any little tabs on mine and broke it pushing it in. A bit unfortunate but it works anyway, just got a be careful while removing the dip stick
Thanks my dip tube broke now I gotta get another one it's more than just pulling
some plastic fell in the hole when i changed it out should i just do a oil change to try and flush out that little piece?
