That thing was the biggest pain I had with the entire process. It ended up taking about 20 minutes to pry off. I took like a small curved pointy tool thing (sorry hard to describe) and wiggled it in and slowly pushed up against the lip of it. You can also try a screw driver, just be careful you don’t want to snap it off. Push it in until you are past the plastic lip and push forward on it. It WILL be tough.

What is the best way to remove the rear breather hose from the VC? Having heck of a time trying to get it off. Clamp is off but cant get it to budge off the spud.

Yeah, that part was a bit scary, but I did it completely on the edge, not going where the sealing surface is at all. It was the only way to get it off. Few days now so far since the job and no problems so far. Clean, no oil leaks.
