In this video we show you what the all too common sunken valve issue looks like on the gen 1 Ford 5.0L Coyote Engines. This issue affects all 2011-2013 5.0L Coyotes engines and some of the early build 2014 models as well.

Anyone doubting this guy is either dumb, drunk, or hasn’t watched FordTechmakuloco long. There’s not an expert I would trust more when it comes to gas powered F-series engines.
Fools are practically receiving unheard wisdom for free, yet have the audacity to voice their biased opinions instead of saying THANK YOU.
My 2014 did this exact same thing
You make it sound like every coyote is junk sad 210 thousand on mine
Some people don't believe that there is issues like this that is why the come out of the woodwork you show clear and precise views of what was going on thank you for the information
My 2011 has slight miss at idle. 107,00 miles. How long should a person wait to replace engine if it is valve issue? Truck is in immaculate condition.
My 21 year old Toyota has 266K hard miles on it. It runs just like it did the day I bought it new. No special oils or filters. Just a change every 5K and coolant flush every few years. This is why I don't buy Fords anymore. But I'm a Ford guy and I've never seen any bullshit like this from my Gen 1 Lightning. Yeah, back when a Lightning was a proper truck. I haven't seen a single truck I'd replace my 30 year old Lightning with. Not from Ford or anyone else.
Use the old valves to cut Pizza.
Ford is dead to me, just enjoy supporting your channel.
Thanks for the video. Great videos and great advice. I have a 13 F150 with the 5.0. Absolutely love it. It does have a rough idle when cold though.
Does ford manufacture these engines or are they farmed out.
Was this "soft" valve problem in Ford Racing crate engines ? of the same year
Thank you. Your channel is one of my morning news channels on the way to work at used car lot. I’m looking at buying a 2020 Ranger Ecoboost. Going to look and see if you have any vids on that.
Love the videos!
Ford where quality is job none is providing you a nice livelihood!
Have you worked on any of the mustangs that had this problem?Im curious how much was the reman engine?
Replacing a long block for a tuliped intake valve. Seems excessive unless downtime is paramount
I’d install a set of Ferreas with a basic 5-angle valve job and rock on.
Chased this down for two years but never tore the car apart because it was my daily got totaled out a month ago and I’m pretty sure this is what was wrong with it
A clear explanation of why EV is really the best choice.
I need some help please i have a 06 f150 it has 251k miles i was having problems with my vvt solenoids so i unplugged them drove it for awhile that way until i could afford new ones i put two brand new vvt solenoids inford oem and new oil and oil filter and now my truck runs way worse violently shakes and you try to drive it and it bogs down has a metalic rattle at 40 to 45 it bucks and surges any ideas has multiple codes i can give you
Would be also common on the Mustangs as well from 11-14???
Wow always learning something new, I appreciate these videos
Can we just swap over good heads from a mustang? or do they have the same problems as well?
What about 2014?
Nice sharp edge that will promote pre-ignition….
Ford's suck, stop working on them!
Planned obsolescence.
Greedy companies screwing over customers.
3 year / 36,000 mile crap!
They need to shift their own paradigm, and leave mine alone.
I have a higher expectation for what the sticker prices are.
If the quality is what the manufacturers claim it is, give the consumers minimum 100,000 mile warranties.
Now I would believe their claims of durability and quality.
Until then nothing but lies.
Practically criminal in this day and age with all the technology available.
I've got a 2013 and only valve that gives a problem is #7 intake valve being burnt twice in a 140,000 miles
